Yikes, if this is the low-maint I would hate to see the high-maint. My low maint organic medium consists of usually two ingredients, perlite and worm castings at a ratio of 70/30. The medium and its contents are so low-maint that I can recycle and reuse from crop to crop simply by adding about a quart ana half of fresh worm castings to a 5gal bucket. Most of the time I will divy that quart up with some quality topsoil [peat/compost free] Since perlite doesnt breakdown easily I can reuse it for years. Some of my perlite [ the coarse ]is probably approaching 15 years old and I only need to pick up a 4cuft about once every 2-3 years. Not bad when the avg year has me going through anywhere from 500-600 gallons of medium.
