what about this

I would like to make sure i have some good soil. so instead of putting my plants in pots and have some one running up on them. or putting them in the shitty soil the ground has. I will dig a big ass hole and put the good soil in the hole. will this be ok. not sure if it will fuck it up when the roots hit the real soil and get starved.

Yes this is a good thing to do.  It will make your plants grow BIG.  Provided you give them the proper nutrients and care.  The bigger the hole you dig the bigger your plant will get.  It's hard work.  Hope you're ready.
Doper
yeah. I can't think of any negative things about this setup. do you grow outdoors. do you know of a good mixture of fertlizer and watering times.
Rockon
Yes, i'm an OD grower.  Everybody has their own preferances on fertilizers so I can't tell you what to add to your soil but some things that are good are bone meal and blood meal, fish emulsion, worm castings, bat guano, chicken shit, sea kelp, etc, etc.  Watering times are different for everyone.  If the soil's dry like an inch down then it's probably time to water.  They like a wet/dry cycle.  Water em good then let em dry out a bit then water em again.  I usually just let nature do it's work.  But sometimes they need help.

I would not use blood meal. It attract animals for the smell of blood.

my best advice is compost my man... you get some real good compost and it'll ahve everything you need... i mean really all it is, is rotten fruits and vegatables anyway... i just did a little makeshift soil (nothing scientific) took some bagged soil added half compost and some pete moss for locking in that moisture and my plants were off an running... IMO it isn't going to matter THAT much what you put in the soil as long as its some rich soil those babies will grow beautifully... but thats just my opinion

agreed, they take pretty well to that mix. May I add though, yo will want some perlite in there to help the water draining situation.
