Monster Plants

2 people I know and 1 person at another cultivation site claim to have grown, or known people who grew, plants 14' tall by 12' wide that yielded 12 lbs. of bud apiece.
Here's how:
First they dig a circular hole 4' deep by 12' across.  Re-fill with quality potting soil, then over-fill until there is a mound 1'--2' tall in the middle of the circle.
On May 1, plant an established 3'--4' tall plant on the mound.
One person I talk to said all you have to do after that is normal care--nute's & water.

So I was thinking about doing this but decieded against it.
Here's why:
-digging a hole as wide as required would involve a tractor or several people for numerous days at least.
-It would cost hundreds of $$ to re-fill the hole woth potting soil (recommended was Fox Farms Ocean & Forest, at $10.00/bag).
-And the plant, 14' tall and 12' wide would stick out like a sore thumb.
I live in a med-mj state, but I don't think I would want a plant that big.  Some of my neighbors have kids, and word about this giant pot plant would get around and kids would come from far and wide to see one that big, and want a sample.
And--
In a space 12' across you could grow like 6--8 plants regular style, yielding 1 lb. (or more) each.

So I think I'll let others grow potzilla and stick to regular style plants myself.
But don't let that stop YOU.

In my outdoor setup I dug a 6' by 4' hole that aprrox. 2.5'-3' deep, I started at 6:15am and finsished it around noon. It probably would have gotten done faster but I kept taking smoke breaks. I also filled it with foxfarm soil. I think I ended up spending like $120 on soil (including a price hookup from my buddy at the local hydro store). My spot is near a bend on a river so we made two boat trips at 2 am to avoid the suspicion of two teens running bags of soil into the woods. We had to make two boat trips because our boat sucked and we would of sunk if it was all in there. So basically what I'm saying is that it is possible, but be prepared for a sore back and some nice blisters.

Believe me; I've been there.
Never by boat, but many many miles of hot dry up n down trails in the mountains in SoCal.
Those big bags of potting soil I used weighed something like 75 lbs each.  It took me 2 trips per bag.
I found an ideal spot once but it involved carrying a 40 lb. steel breaker bar, plus lick and shovel.  It took 2 men the better part of 3 days to dig 24 3' x 3' holes.  Some we gave up on because it was just too difficult.
Some holes were easy, but jeez some took both of us over an hour.
But ya know what?
7 months later, sitting on my couch at home with a shiny new red Rav4 parked in the driveway, it seemed all worth it.
That's how I kept myself going, year after year, walking those dusty trails on 100F days while my friends were at the beach or at a game.
The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Outdoorchronic- this isn't the kind of water you're thinking of. This is a bend in the Great Dismal Swamp. So unless you're the kind of person who is attracted to alligators, cottonmouths, snapping turtles, and who knows what other nasty shit resides in there, odds are you'll stay the fuck out. The water is so black its scary. And the entire areas is one big ass mosquito swarm with hundreds of bramblethorn vines. All of these aspects contributed to the choosing of my location
