is it possable to grow where cattail grow? the area is not like a swamp but its wet, and has plenty of cover. i was wondering if you can plant there i was planning on making a mound about 1 foot in the air and about 1 foot wide for each plant. or is it best to juat plant right in the ground

Hows the sunlight? Mj needs atleast 5 hours of direct sunlight per day. More is better. Use a bale of hay. Use lots of lime as swampy areas tend to be too acidic. The lime will allow your plants to thrive by driving down the ph of the water. My concern is how will they get sunlight? will you make a trail to the spot thru the cattails? You don't want it to be obvious that pot is growin there. We could help you more with more info.

they will get sunlight there the same way as if i where to grow in a corn field by trimming out a little section. the trail part i haven't rilley thought of i am just going to have to come in a diffrent way every time. but that is why i ask do i have to water them if not then i will not have to go to the spot so then there will not be a trail. you said use hay or straw how do i go about doing that just mix it in with the soil or what. also will i have to water the plants? is the mound idea good or is there a better way of doing this?

i did some reasearch and found out that the mounds have to be about 2 feet high and about a foot wide. ther is not a whole lot of information on growing in wet lands,swamps,and bogs. i looked through every post and there was only 1 topic on growing in a bog. I also was wondering if i put some lime in the soil will i have to but any more ferts or nuts in the soil or can i get away with just lime to bring the ph up? also does anyone no if cattails give off heat i know pinetrees do
any information would help. anything
