Well i guess that depends on what you are going to do with them? The 5 inch are alot more stable than the 3.75.

the bigger the better, but after the roots reach the bottom of the cup, what will they be growing into?? Just a pipe?? Whats your system?? If they are just growing into a pipe then they will become rootbound, and depending on spacing, start tangling

so other than for stability, is there an advantage to using a 5" vs a 3" or even a 2" for that matter provided that there is plenty of room outside the pot for the roots to grow?
