well im thinkin bout makin a hydro sys outta a five gallon bucket or somethin bigger, looks pretty easy, and would be great for my limited grow space, so far i got the bucket, air stones, and a high powered air pump(high powerd for a fish tank air pump), im unclear on what size net cup ta use, or what mediem i should have. also don't know if i can use my fox farms ferts. anyways i'd like ta build one so i can see the results myself, as im never gonna grow more then three plants at a time(indoors anyways), if it speeds up my grow as fast as it looks to, i might swicth over ta hydro. any idea's? i can only grow three plants because of my states law if i get busted, over three u won't walk free;)

Oxy, this is the system that I am currently using. I started mine from seed in 2" pots and then moved up as the roots began to pretrude from the bottom. If you use some styrofoam ( the white packaging shit ) it allows you to make new lids for your bucket so as you can accomodate different size pots so that they are easily swapped over as you transplant up in pot size. Initially I had 4 pots in the 1 bucket but now each pot has it's own bucket. I am now using a 6"-7" pot after 2 pot upsizes which I will go right through to harvest in. This way also allows the foam to float on top of the bucket so it goes down with your water level. I personally started my seeds in a straight vermiculite medium and had no troubles at all, they loved it. Now in the final pot I am using 33% vermiculite 66% perelite. This medium seems to be working fine, the plants are quite stable. I am only going into week 5 so things may change in this department. The Fox Farm ferts i am unable to help as I am not using them myself. I am using hydroponic nutrients but a very weak solution. I don't recommend using any for the first couple of weeks. ya thanks man i never thought of the styro foam i could just make diff size lids,, heh smart fella;) well i saposse tommorow im gonna start work on it ill go ta wally world and get supplies, have ta get the medium at a grow shop though. thanks BB;)

Your local hydro store should have 4 and 6 inch net pots made into the lid. This makes them more stable and don't have to keep moving them. I always use hydroton or grow rocks. The main thing with bubbler buckets is to get as much air as possible in the nutrient solution. The more air the better. Keeps the roots healthy. It is also one of the most productive methods of hydro.

Get a dual outlet pump and use both lines in one bucket.
