hydro help

i have been on this website b4, my name was gkpro420, but my computer broke last year and i moved, so i didnt bother hooking it up. I bought a new laptop for christmas, and i remembered this site, i am kind of rusty, but i am relearning everything fast, i got a few quick questions.

1. With hydro how often should i change my water/nutes?
2. my setup is a 4ftx4ftx4ft box, underground. I have a shed, which i cut a 4x4 hole in the floor, and dug down 5ft, and put a box in the hole, i got the floor covered by carpet, and a couch on top of it, u cant even tell its there, but i was wondering if you guys think i could grow down there in the winter, i havent tested the temp this winter, but in the summer it was around 80. I am wanting to start around 4 plants to make mothers, and take clones to my spot outdoors. sorry i had to give u guys the picture. alright, now do u think that if i used a fish tank heater, in the bottom of my buckets , the plants would live, if the temp in the box is fairly low, becuz its about 30-35 degrees out side.
Also would it be possible not to use a ph meter and even test the nutes, because i spent all my money on christmas :), but just make sure my nutes arent strong at all, but change the nutes more often or something, give me some input and i thank all of you for reading my post, sorry if i wasted your time, Merry Christmas

you could grow in a box underground if you had proper ventillation. in the winter it will be too cold without a heating element inside(if the temps are around 35 like u say). since the lights are off 12 hours out of the day theres nothing in there to keep them warm. aquarium heater wont keep the whole plant warm. you cant grow hydro without a ph meter. you could do without a tds meter but not a ph.

i have grown in the box before, it was my first time, and i got around a half oz. of some chronic. But i wasnt going to go to flower in the box, but this year, if it would work, i wanted to start the plants in the box, and move them outside, my plan was to start a lot of seedlings in the box, than let them grow to like a foot tall each, then sex them, and weed out the males, then take the best 6 plants, and plant them in 6 different spots along the woods by my house, it would be so unnoticeable if there was just 1 plant in each spot, and if they were all female, and i started them out and let them get big before i plant them outside, i could yield more from less plants, and have monsters. Give me some feed back and tell me if there are  any flaws in my ideas, or if you know of any other way to grow in the box, in the winter. Thanks

so then your growing outdoors. just read up on outdoor growing and youll be good. will get plenty of bud if you do it right.

one day my dream is to have a hill with a shed on it and a hatch down to a grow room. seems totally stealth and since my ambitions arent big (just trying to smoke) keeping it cool wouldnt be too much of an issue. i doubt i would ever graduate above my trusty 400w.
