I have a white widow plant that has been vegging in soil for two weeks. It has a good root system and is has been growing well. I just transplanted it into my a 5 gallon bucket system with air pump and drip system. The net pot is 10" deep into the bucket and filled with hydrotron clay pebbles. How high should I fill the nutrient solution. I've been told all the way to the top or just to the base of the net pot. Which is correct?

Hey now bud. Dont fill them up to the net pots that is to much, just unnecessary. Fill it up about half way to the net pots. Enough water and then some, to have your pumping columns emit water thru the drip rings...

if your roots are hanging down from the net pots , have the roots just in the water,if no roots showing....... OVER FLOW THE MOTHER FUCKER!!!!
Useless
IMO - You want the water level about 1/2" - 1" below the root mass. This means when your are not showing through the net pot, you want the water level about 1/2" below the net pot. Once the roots pop, drop the solution down accordingly. Obviously you can't continue dropping the solution level for the entire life cycle of the plant or there won't be any solution after about 3 weeks! So, drop the level until you have about 2 gallons of solution left in the bucket. That will be the lowest you want to go. Flush every week, plain water for at least a few hours.

Bud Man, scratch the previous post. Those are directions for a DWC/Bubbler bucket. Guess I should have read your post more carefully, I would have seen you are top-feed. That changes everything! Since you're drip feed, you only want about 2" of nutrient solution in the bucket. That's right! Just enough for the airstones to bubble the little bit of solution in the bottom. Drill a drain hole so the bottom of it is 2" from the bottom of the inside of the bucket. What you're doing is hybrid system. A cross between a drip system and aeroponics. And believe me when I say, you won't be disappointed! I will post a picture later and show you a set-up. The plants grow the fastest I have ever seen aside from straight aero systems. Blows away ebb n flow. Remember, the more bubbles the better, which means the more air the better. Don't have a higher solution level than 2", TRUST ME! If you have enough air blowing into the bucket and proper ressy temps you can run the feed lines 24/7 and not worry about the dreaded pythium. Just let me know if you have any questions.
