Thanks for the advice Sd, my diet as been one of things I have been trying to fix but it is a challege, as are all good things.  I really think I need to eat regulary which is hard when I am running around doing a lot and I forget to eat or just eating for the sake of eating, you have made a really good point.  I have never connected the two before.

Your welcome

It really is worth looking into elcajone. When you start to learn more and more about foods, the human body and diet, it really shocks the hell out of you the type of things we put into our bodies everyday and how we're being misled to believe these things are actually ok for us.

Eating some of this stuff is like slowly poisoning yourself. I know people think it sounds crazy but when youre faced with the facts, its really is pretty bad the so called "foods" they sell and promote.

Elca......well I would be repeating all the great advice given by other members.....but good luck to you! :)

btw....SD is not kidding you about the "diet"....it really is amazing what we eat & how unhealthy it is for us.  I changed my entire diet after my lil one was diagnosed with "epilepsy" (and it was SD's advice & help) anywhos.....she is doing so much better now because of it.  We always ate healthy but not like we do now...and I will tell ya first hand that you will see HUGE improvements mentally & physically.

my sister has manic depression (old term for bipolar disorder), but she is doing extremely well these days.  however, in college (before she knew she had bipolar) she nearly died because she developed a very serious addiction to alcohol.  she had to drop out, come home, and enter a rehab facility for a few months.  although her docs diagnosed her and started her on meds rather quickly, it took a very long time before she showed signs of significant recovery.

that was about 10 years ago.  today my sister is in control of her life for many reasons.  she has been completely sober since rehab.  she finished college within a few years.  now she works as a teacher at a community college and as an instructor for 'employee relations' courses.  most important, my sister now feels happy with her success, whereas before rehab her outlook on life was often bleak to say the least.

it's hard to believe that her doctor told my parents that she'd be dead by the end of the school year if they didn't bring her home to put her in rehab.  don't wait to get the help you need.  it takes a lot of work, but it's not impossible to change your life for the better.

I think Elca's got a good idea of what's wrong and how to put it right. Nearly there now.
The phrase about Mellow's sister being happy with her success really hit home for me, success as a fear generated by others misfortune and a persons fear of ventureing into the unknown world success is difficult. Especially when you've seen many fall from that level they call successful.
Elc,, your more sorted than a lot of folks, take heart.
