weed and anxiety

I was just wondering if smoking is causing anyone to get panic attacks and great anxiety.  I started smoking again, and when I say that I haven;t smoke for a few months and I have been once a day for the last week, which I am going to be tapering down to a couple times a week.  Anyway I have been getting panic attacks basically in the morning, I am trying to find out what is causing them, if anything, and I am wondering if it is the weed.  Peace

It happens when you over-medicate.
I would reduce the amount you smoke and/or spread the smoking time out over a more lengthy span.
Some strains can cause anxiety, and if there are any weird pesticides or fertilizers in the plant matter you are smoking that can create negative side-effects.

If you have discomfort quit smoking it and talk to your Dr.

Thanks guys.  Like I said I hadn;t smoked for a while and my parents left for a week like the day after I bought a quater, anyway I could smoke in my house which was really nice so I kind of went all out, I can no longer do that, so I am going to space out the times I smoke probably no more than a couple of times a week if that. As for the anxiety I am actually seeing a doc for it and taking anti anxiety pills, I am not sure if the weed is the cause for extra anxiety, I know my friend tends to freak out when he has smoked.  I am first going to see how twice a week is then maybe once a week, thanks for the input.  peace

I mean to be helpful.

I have found that some weed is really bad for anxity.

the last time I experienced this was when I visited some friends, meet new people I don't know and got the feeling I couldn't trust them.
I was trying strange herb that wasn't a good kind at the same time.

So It happens from time to time but, I understand what is going on and can rise above reacting.  
I'm not above saying to my friends; " I'm haveing a bad experience with this weed and I need to jet."
Then take a long walk if possible.

What I did to find a good weed.

1. )  I went to the Cannibis club in Berkley and tried about $400 worth of different weed. ( no joke )
2. ) Found the ones that made me feel happy and emotionaly uplifted ( ie Glad + Mendo~love ground up and mixed together ) and one that would put me down for the count ( B59 a little lift and off to couch lock land )
3. ) got seeds and grew and seeded these for a seed supply ( hermie accident ).

Now I can't say that I have not had some bad times that  weed couldn't help but I have not had to buy pills.

I suggest to have a good friend to talk to, exercize, eat healhy, and get laid regular along with a great weed.

Find a weed that is a happy feeling and not a heavy trip kind.  It may feel like you smoke and you don't get high enough or it won't last long enough but it's the kind to help and not hurt.
I am talking about well grown clean weed just not skagg cheepo bag weed hauled in on the back of some poor fool from some farmer who could care less.


I beleve some weed will help those who have anxity but not all will and a panic attack is really a bad trip that doesn't allways happen in safety so even with medication we all have to cope with the events.
Best to prcatice seeing outside the panic moment if you can.. Because in time you can seperate the feelings from the moment and get back to happy as soon as possible..
If you are like me you will become very tired of going down that road.  I am...  I try to avoid that street whenever possible but life get's in the way to be honest.
Crappy job, bills, problems with cars people and such.


So above my pride and arrogance here I wish you and every one well.

And if any medication or treatment causes problems see your Doctor.

randy high everything is helpful.  The two worse times I have freaked out on MJ, was the first time I got high.  It took me awhile to get high, as in a couple of months, anyway I was at this party house with no one I knew all that well, like I just went without my friends.  I was smoking and all of a sudden I was high, I have never experienced what that was like and I freaked out, and went into the bathroom and I was like this is what you wanted deal with it, then I called my friends and asked them to pick me up right away and just calling them made me feel better, you know that experience would have scared people sober but not me.  The other time I freaked out was the first time I have a magic cookie.  My friend put a shit load of weed in the butter and that was the highest I had been in my entire life.  I almost threw up, like I had to much, I could feel my heart pumping a million miles a min I had to go home and lay in a dark room, to calm down a little.  That sucked.  I don;t freak out when I am high mosre often then not, actually I tend to freak out more by ligour.  Anyway I was talking about more anxiety when I am sober.  I don;t know, I just could be more stressed out at the moment.  Anyway thanks for the feedback and thought peace

I actually had to take my ex-wife to the hospital the first time she got high.  She seriously thought she was going to have a stroke and INSISTED on going to the hospital.  The doc prescribed her Ativan and her anxiety attacks lingered for months.  
She was so freaked out that she had every test imaginable done at the dr's office over the course of the following month.  Finally, she was able to "talk herself down" from the attacks and eventually, stopped having them.
We're still friends and she still smokes pot with an occaisional attack.
Word to the wise:  Smoke in moderation.
Smoke in moderation.  Also, the mood you're in when you smoke can have a lot to do with how the high makes you feel.  If you're stressed out about something, smoking pot will not make it go away.  In my experiences, it only makes me worry more.
Also, be careful with anti-anxiety drugs.  Some are addictive, such as Valium, Xanax, Ativan, Halcion.  So be sure to follow the Dr's guidance.

To be honest I have  a problem with to much to quick. I call it body/weed connection, (thinking to much about automatic body function)Weed increases to heart rate there is a massive hormone release you tell yourself its just the weed talking,then you think about it (try to think of something else, but that usually doesn't work) then you dwell on it, then good ol hyperventalation and paranoia sets in, but the trick is take it slow use a pipe not a bong, take a small hit and sit on it for about 10 min, then take another, wait 10 min and so on when you get to the point of stone you may increase your hit size (Because now you are too stoned to care). Don't bend to peer pressure either, if your friend want to suck an oz through a 5 ft bong in one hit, just set there with your pipe and say "Go For It Dudes I Got Mine And I'll Catch Up" Its Your Body It Your Choice. Smoking weed should be a good experience, not a bad trip.      Take It Slow
