Is it for exhaust???? If so, squirrel cage fans are the way to go. Try a used building supply store. They usually have them cheap. (where I am anyway)

squirl cage fans are ok, but really loud. the best exaust fans out there are inline fans. german made fans that are designed to move alot of air quietly. home depot just started carrying them. $175. a 1000cfm squirl cage fan equals about a 250 cfm inline fan. this is not something you want skimp on.

Yes, Home depot does carry the inline fans at a good price. Alternatively, you could check out http://www.discount-hydro.com (a discreet seller of goods, HIGHly reccomended!)
