theres stuff you can buy called vermiculite that you mix with your soil or put it on top.
its about 4-5 bucks for a bag of it.
it keeps soil moist.
it also might be possible that your lights are too close to your plants or soil.

Peace
op
did you put you finger down into the soil to check if it is moist below the surface?

Do you have trays under the pots????  If not, get some.  After watering the plants normally, you can put some water in the trays and the plants can drink from them..  Only do this if the plants have roots all the way to the bottom of the pot.  Also do what op said.  Soil that looks dry often isn't.  Over watering will do more damage than under watering, so make sure that your plants actually need more water before you give them more.  The soil should get dry between waterings and chould never be soggy.  Are they wilting between waterings??  How big are the plants??

There's an inexpensive paroduct that's ideal for the home grower. Check it out at http://www.jardinierplantersystems.com. It's a proven growing systems that's been in use by professional interior landscapers for the last 12 years. It virtually eliminates watering problems, most plants will only have to be watered once every 2-3 weeks, which means you can even take a vacation wihout worrying about your plants.
