Hi everyone its jo bud getting ready for my 06 outdoor grow. Since i have so many plants and theyt are so far in the woods watering is a problem because it is dry in the summer here but last season i come up with an idea while hauling water!! Mabey if i put sheet plastic aroun the base of my plants will this stop evaporation and therefore mean less watering trips for me. I would think that i would only do this during veg and when flower season approaches pull it up to let the roots breath and pluss it gets cooler then to so it would not be that necesarry. Would this cause root rot mabey if i cut sections out of the plastic to still let air movement but still limit evaporation?? I'm not saying this method will work but just asking for input??? thanks

Get polymer crystals. Do a search on it and then buy them.

A little pricy way you can do this too is to buy a dozen or so tubs of silica gel. It will suck ALL of the moisture out of the air and collect the water. Then build a condensor. You dig a hole in the ground about 2 feet deep and 3 feed wide. Line the bottom of it with a tarp so it is seeled away from the ground. Line the outer edge of it with rocks on the top of the ground. Put a 5 gallon bucket in the middle and fill the hold with about 4 inches of dirt from the ground. Put another tarp over the hole and pile rocks on the outside around it so it is also sealed to the ground. Put a medium sized rock in the middle of it the top tarp "sags" in the middle and any condensation will drip into the bucket. This needs to be in the sun too. Pour all the water you get from the silica gel buckets into the dirt inside the condensor. You can also piss in there too. When you come check out your plants the bucket will be full with strait water from teh condensation. This condensor is a common survival technique. You can also urinate into the soil and the water should be untainted. If this doesn't make sense I'm sorry I'm stoned so it makes PERFECT sense to me.

Even a piece of plywood at the bottom of the hole can help.
The idea is that water goes down and hits the board then has to go horizontal rather than continue it's vertical trek. Thus soaking in well at root base rather than streaking by and leaving dry spots
