Yesterday I installed 250 watt HPS in my growbox in replacement for my 100 watt of CFL bulbs. This morning for the first time the plants don't look great - ever morning under CFL they looked really healthy, leaves pointing up straight towards the light and had visibly grown since last look. This morning the leaves arent pointing straight up, in fact some of the leaves are actually curling under a little at the tips.
The plants are about 16 inches beneath the light - any nearer and it would be too hot.
Is there any reason why it should be growing worse under HPS? I had always assumed it should do better

Can you raise your light up then lower it a little at a time over the next couple days. There is alot of difference in light intensity between a flows and an hps. Vegetation is alot more tender under the flows. Any time i go from flows to hid i transition them to the new light. Also heat could be an issue.
