dont quote me on it but ive heard that you cut off the branches at the first node and wait a day or two for the cuts calous up then bury it and it will grow roots.im just a beginner so ask around a bit more.

Listen. Pot is just like any plant. Take a cutting. Cuttings actually look like little plants even while still on the main plant. Think! Look! you 'll see.

Or you'll get stem rot....LOL

geneosbourne,if I was u I would wait a week or 2 after you transplant before you bury the root system by putting soil up to the first node.MJ is one of the few plants/trees that can tolerate burying the root system.I have always buried my MJ plants up to the first set of real leaves(not the first set of round). But right after transplant you might be looking for trouble. Most plants and trees will die if you plant them to deep or add large amounts of fill/dirt on top of their root systems.I have seen huge 80 year old oak trees that died because the developer put 2 feet of fill on top of its root system.I have 36 guys that plant trees/palms and plants everyday at work. I don't do the work anymore, but I did for years. The most I have to do is draw orange circles on the ground were the guys will put the trees if my lead man is on vacation.

i didn't know that, its a good thing they are because i always bury em right up to the first leaves after trans, for more stability. i'll be alittle more careful from now on.
