if the plant just popped throught the soil and has those little mini leaves should the lights be on 24/0 or should they be switched to 18/6

at the beginning he more light the better.. but if money is an issue.. then maybe 18/6 is better, its a little cheaper..... but when they are young, they can eat up as much light as you can give them

It depends on individual preference. Neither is wrong.
I use 18/6 cos I feel the savings in electrcity way offsets any meagre gains I would get for the extra 6 hours growing.
