Let me start off by saying I an posting as a last resort. I have devoted the necessary time and energy to learning as much as I could on my own through lurking on message boards, reading books, and grow articles as well. I have read many of the post here and everyone has such great insight. Ok here goes with specifics...I have 5 Purple Power plants and they are 26 days old. Everything has been going well. I started them in 2 liters that were cut in half. I had to transplant within a week (I thought that was really quick) when the leaves were curling down and sure enough when I cut off the 2 liter the roots were just beginning to ball up at the bottom. I am growing in soil under a 400W MH and supplementing that with a 125W compact flour. I mist everyother day and alternate mistings with a seaweed extract and plain room temp water. The first feeding I used fish emulsions and I just this week fed with Earthjuice Grow. I noticed on 1 of the plants all of the sudden the fan leaves just looked like all the life was sucked out of it. It was looking great then all of the sudden the fan leaves just dropped and begine to die. I freaked out and just started prunning the shit out of it and basically cut off all the big fan leaves and left all the new growth (probably over reacted alittle huh). Now the new leaves that are growing and coming in twisted. On my 2 biggest and best looking plants the big nice fab leaves have yellow dots. They dont seem to be concentrated in any particular order just dots on the best looking leaves and the edges are curling upwards (cupping). the yellowing is only on the 2 best growing plants. I have a dual fan blowing just under the light across the tops of the plamts and have a humidifier. Temps stay between 77-82 and humidity is between 47-52. I just registered and will try to get some pics up but any help would be greatly appreciated.

you should never cut off the fan leaves. they store nutes and gather light for photsynthesis to feed the plant. when a plant gets hungry it starts to eat the nutes stored in those fan leaves. the plant was prolly just telling you it was hungry. The plant will get rid of the leaves when it's done with them. I don't mist or foliar feed. some do and I believe that's a good solution you are using.
I don't think you need the supplemental flo either. use it for clones and seedlings later on. that 400w is plenty.
I appreciate the feedback. Yeah unfortunately I read the same thing you posted about too late as I had already cut off the leaves. It is my first grow and I am learning a lot as I go. I have consulted all of the charts about plant problems and nothing really describes what I am seeing. the plant that i cut up has new growth and I am hoping that it recovers from my overzealous prunning. i have read that marijuana plants are pretty resilant and can persevere in tough conditions. Once again thanks for your help. Can I ask what your reasoning is for not misting or foliar feeding?

I just don't see any need for misting. I misted some when i first started, but water can act as a magnifying glass on the leaves. very easy to burn. I never saw any advantages/improvement after misting.
I mainly don't foliar feed because I don't like spraying ANYTHING on my buds. No matter how natural I have to eventually smoke it.
Also, MJ plants feed mainly through the root system. I just have never had the need for the extra food. they do fine without it. it's just something else to "keep up with". I find that the simplest way is the best way. especially if you start to have problems it's easier to figure out what may be causing it.
That's just what works best for my situation.

a dude of mine only folier feeds to adjust micro nutrients, when he told me this i just nodded my head and said ye man me too

Interesting. You are right though. As a 1st time grower I get all anxious over every little thing. I dont plan to do any misting/foliar feeding after veg. Also, what defciency is associated with stems turning purple? Being that my strain is a purple strain I am not really taking that into consideration but today the stem was a darker purple.
wawona
purple stems seems to be a common occurance. It never really leads to much. problems any way

Tomorrow will be 28 days since I started germination. When should I flush for the 1st time? After flushing is it ok to add ferts right away?
wawona
I only flush once, 2 weeks b4 flower. I use organic soil and nutrients. feed a day or 2 after flushing.
there's a feeding/flushing schedule in the faq that's a good guide.

I am into organics as well, but started the grow before I started reading about organics and am currently using MG w/ some chemical additives. Once I had the problems with the spots I thought it might be potassium and added a small amount of Scotts 10-10-10. I read somewhere that mixing chemical and organic is not good, is this true?
