rented it the other day. Have to say it was a good movie. Didnt know the arms trade was so intense, or about the massive unloading of soviet weapons after the cold war. Basically theres some crazy shit going on in the world. anyone seen it? have any opinions about the end of the movie condemning USA as the bigest arms dealer of them all

I'd have to agree with that statement myself.

yea fuckin hell. its basically a documentary about international freelance arms dealing. Theres some corrupt shit going on in this world. Governments are feeding poor nations weapons so they can kill each other, and doing it under the table so that no blame can be placed on them. I mean this shit is whack! they make it a pain for americans to obtain weapons, while malnourished africans can trade AK-47's(not the strain) for chickens.
Another thought i had thats unrelated to lord of war, but i think is interesting none the less is: We keep our armies fighting, maybe just to keep them in a job. And so they can use their training. An army at rest loses experience and doesnt cost as much to operate. This way the defense contracts can keep being made, and we get to keep our soldiers hardened combat machines. rather than tubby family men. just a thought
