You my friend have one of the most unique growing styles. Stands out from all others for sure. A blend of many things all wrapped into one and it works quite well. I can see the nubs where you super-cropped quite distinctly. I'll have to get back into that habit myself. Super-cropping is a very good thing for not only increasing yield, but in giving those plants a solid base for heavy buds. I'm keeping a close eye on this one...you may sway me over to that defoliation technique yet.

BTW.....I wonder if it's something in the GG#4 genetics that makes it prone to going hermie? The feminized Gorilla Bomb I have hasn't popped nuts but it has put out a number of small nanners. Right at the very tips of the buds is where they form. It's not too bad since I watch them so close but as you say...only the strong shall remain. If I didn't need to fill my coffers so badly I'd axe this particular pheno and move on.

Here is the GG4 I’ll be keeping. She has great structure and tight internode spacing.

 

Here are the two Bubble Bomb that I’ll be keeping. I’ve taking clones from both plants.
The first three are from one plant and the other three from the other.

I decided to do a round your style, i will see how it works out on a big plant.
What do ya think? I do still need to get the little sucker branches out the middle but i think they look pretty close to how you do it.

I think it will work. I’m looking forward to seeing how these plants turn out. Finish cleaning out those suckers in the middle and post another picture if you don’t mind. Are these plants at the beginning of flowering?

 

They will go into flower it a few days, i will take off the fan leafes that grow out between now and then when i take out the inside stuff.
I will be finally starting my 2018 thread as soon as they go to flower and hopefully will post weekly pick.
There is 16 of them, half gorilla glue #4 and the other half LSD.

 

Are you trying it on a small scale are you trying it on all 16 plants? If it was me I think I would only try it on a couple of larger plants first.

 

I have done the tops on a few the last couple runs and it did good. The idea this time was to do it but not as extensive as you but i had someone else come in and do it and i didnt inspect until they had 3 done and it kinda scared me but then i decided F it just do them all like that

 

Here is the rainmaker at six weeks with the lights off this morning.

 

The under side of the leaves have as many trichomes as the top of the leaves. Yummy.
