Simple question which I have had differnet answers for from different people. Is there a definitive answer? Some say once a week, others, every other day. I have noticed on previous plants that if i dont water for two days my plant looks like its gonna die (droopeded and ill looking). So a week would surely do it in! All suggestions greatly appreciated. Montie
Thanks RacerX. Thge pot has a 9 inch diameter. So big.ish. Do your plants droop? After say a day of no watering?
They could be drooping from overwatering. Myself I let them dry out more then the first 2 or 3 inches. When they are young I like the roots to work to find moisture. If your soil is drying out completely in one day , then you room is way to hot or you need soil with better water retention properties.
I dont think it is from overwatering cause as soon as I water them, they 'perk up'. Ill try anyway and see how it goes. So every 2 or 3 days seems to be the norm, yeah? (My closet is at around 70oF) So not too hot.
UGH GUYS COME ON... Think nature here... is the top 1" of the soil dry? yes? well water it... is the soil dry too soon to add more fertilized water? fine.. use regular water... or be a super mad scientist and fork out $16 for a PH/Moisture meter and drop it in the soil... if it says "dry" well.. add some water - MARK!! Cheers Mark, So just to be precise -lol- how often do you water yours? As often as every day, what would be the norm. to ask but im curious. :] Montie
Montie, Well I grow in a very warm climate, but I grow inside, I use a 400W HPS Hortilux, with cooling my room is about 84 degrees... with that temp (less evaporation) I need to water about every 3 days.. think of it this way.. Cannibus is very resiliant.. its better to under water than to over water and drown your plants... if your leaves start drying and curling then u know your under watering.. add water.. and like a day later.. the plant will be back looking beautiful.. this is truly an amazing plant. - MARK!
Thanks again Mark, Thats the kind of reply I was looking for. I have obviously been overwatering all of my previous plants. I always used to water them every morning and every evening. I made several posts about the leaves changing to yellow at the tips and general poor plants. I received many different ideas at what it could be when it seems that one of the main issues here was my overwatering. Ill see how my baby comes along with a more restrained aqua schedule :] Thanks again.
yo u should just stick your pinky finger in the soil a bit to see if it needs watering. my outdoor crop grows alot faster when its really dry for some reason.
QUOTE I always used to water them every morning and every evening. Yah that is definatley too much... the most I have ever needed to water was every two days.
I also agree.. I cant understand why people dont grow their plants with 5-10 gallon containers..****, if you grew out 2 plants with 2 7 gallon containers..you will probably get more yield out of the two compared to 8 rootbound sick plants..Something most newbies overlook..the "pot size".Get em large,..Grow em large,..and you shall see "LARGE" in return.
