Would powdery mildew on the plants cause them to ripen early? I had 3 WW in my flower chamber that I had to harvest 1-2 weeks early; the pistels were all brown like it was past optimum harvest date. Then 2 NL plants, same thing. The NL are still in flower and a close check of them today is telling me they will be done soon, possibly the next couple of days. By the calender, they still have 2 weeks. The plants do have a bad case of powdery mildew and some of the leaves have curled under and are dead/dying, so I don't mind harvesting early. I intend to clean the flower chamber well before the next batch is ready in 2 weeks, to get rid of the mildew problem. The NL are grown from known seed and the first round of NL was ready after 54 days. As I understand it, harvesting early will give the MJ less of a couchlock effect, no? :BushDumb:
yo man crush ice in water and feed it to your plant to fool it into thinking its time to bud.the colder and colder the temp gets the more it will push itself to finish faster. in some cases that is not true tho. anything you can do to fool the plant into thinking its time to bud do it. just simulate what happens in the late summer.
No, I'm not TRYING to speed up flowering, it's happening on its own. I was wondering if the powdery mildew was the cause. :BushDumb:
Are you growing in Hydro or Soil? Hydro is generally a faster method and can reduce flowering times considerably.
Growing in soil, with a 400W HPS light, proper ventilation, chem ferts. I had a look at my NL this morning and they'll be down by week's end if the pistels continue to go brown at the same rate. Which is 1-3 weeks early. Strange. :BushDumb:
