Hi all, I have two small pet fish (Beta`s) in about one gallon of water each. Theses are quite large containers and could hold more, but i have the bare roots of a peace lili submerged in the water. the fish nibbles the roots and i also feed them once a week. Anyway I was short on water(will not use what comes out of fawcet) and decided what the hell instead of dumping it down the drain I dumped it on the plants. I change water about one a month in fish bowls. The plants love it they took off greened up nice and went crazy. At first I was concerned about ph but did`nt seem to hurt at all. Just thought I`d share....ttg

    Once a month?

Well the water must have lots of fish **** in it, and **** is generally just what plants need.

Some people add chemicals to their fish tanks, the water might not be good to use in that case.

if you like fishing, when you filet the fish, throw the scales & guts in some water. then rinse the fish in the water. after that mix the water and guts with your soil. my rose bushes love it. never tried it with cannibus though, i dont wanna taste dead fish.

Your pot wouldn't taste like fish.

Most fetilizers are either animal **** or chemical imitations of animal ****. But most food/pot doesn't taste like ****, does it?

I get raves about the taste of my pot, along with the aroma and stone, and I use chicken **** tea for veg and bat **** tea for flower.

If you're gonna mix fish parts with soil, do it before you plant in that soil preferably a month or more prior, to give the fish time to decompose.

p.s. fish emulsion is a very popular fertilizer.

Do you think you would taste it?
By the same theory, if I take blueberries and mix it up in the soil, will my herb taste like that?

I believe one of the major seed co's (Spice of Life)actually run strictly aqua-ponics.

The taste is either in the genetics or the curing process.

Certain flushes are available from places like growell.co.uk or aquatech.co.uk. I have a friend who is thinking of flushing a P.O.G with lime. Sounds nice...

I have a 2 55 gallon fish tanks a 20 gallon fish tank and I just got a 125 fish tank.I never through away the water when I do water changes from my tanks.I always use the **** water on my pot plants and veggy garden. If you use a good sucktion hose you can get alot of the **** up from the gravel.

As for using the fish guts why not use the whole carcus.Just burry it in your garden or soil you plan to use the next year and it works great.

Dawg..That is a terrific idea.I do the same exact thing..Including burying fish in the soil of my pot plants & Houseplants when they pass away.. Every plant in this household is as Healthy as can be.I wish I had more of that Ol' Dirty aquarium water..It works better than most ferts.!!!  CG [IMG]

Luckily I have a compost bin right up the back of my property so I like to put all kinds of organic grow materials in.

Prawn heads, fish carcasses and the likes all go in but I try not to put in any acid fruit scraps etc.

If you are planting outdoors it is always a good idea to prep the soil a good month or so in advance.

Dig the soil right up, pitch fork if you have yo, add your compost/prawn scraps etc. then turn in with some soil, cover over and thouroughly water a couple weeks.

I usually have grown 2 foot plants in pots by this time, transplanted into the soil, then had to chop back in under a month in order to keep them under my fence line, no ****.

Do you know how to cure it to taste like berrys or fruits and stuff??

When you cure you can add flavour using whatever type of food flavouring essences that are available to you.

Simply just drop a cotton wool ball into a plastic bag and drop a couple drops of essence onto the cotton bud. Now crumple the top of the bag together so that the ball will not fall out but air can exchange within the bag. Now place the bag into the curing jar, (as not to let the cotten ball touch any buds), eal the jar and let cure as per usual.

My personal preference is vanilla essence but the cured taste also depends on the natural taste of the strain.
