OK, my seedlings have a purple stem on some the whole thing is purple while on others only a little part of the stem is purple. Also B4 I went 2 bed last night the leaves were curling down on one of them, but when I got up they had curled upwards. Am I flapping over nothing or should I B worried?
What does the purple stems indicate? Please share, CG. I had that problem too, and it was cured with ferts, but I'd like to know what caused it. Thanks Brother! Peace all!
Purple stems does not mean anything serious is going on.Sometimes genetics will pass on this trait..I have seen Purple stems on a few of my plants once in a while..And because they were purple didn't slow down the bud production, or the health of any of my plants. As long as the grower is using a "full meal" Fertilizer..Like peters 20-20-20, There shouldn't be a problem.Another thing everyone should remember,..Especially the newbies.."Less is more" when it comes to giving the girls their ferts. From what I've seen,.. If you give your plants too much food, and your running low wattage lights , your asking for trouble.I can literally give my Monsters Tablespoons of fertilizer with no harmful affects whatsoever,..Only Because they can metabolize the food because of the higher watts I run..Lots of photosynthesizing is going on over this way..Which means, These plants require greater amounts of food. Its kinda like their running a marathon. They need the fuel.Keep them plants on the right diet, and watch them take off!!! *Purple is just a color*. Good luck to all!! CG
Thats very true Chop, But, Giving them a full balanced diet, and still seeing the purple..Then,Its more like a genetic trait, Unless the P is deficient.. So true.. CG
I'm starting a new set with a strain called "plum" and I see where the name came from. The stems and branches are plum purple right from the get go. I'm also sure that it isn't a nute deficiency (practice).
man check that ph.check water ph.if cahanging ph dosent do it go to the % of perlite to soil, can dictate a ph,due to drainage.
the % of perlite to soil and or pot size can dictate a ph.so if ph appears to be on and still having the problem go to % of perlte to soil.dont mean t spam,peace........
