hey, i have a question. after i germinate the seedlings i want to grow them under an 18inch flourecent light till they get bout 3inchs long than i will plant them outdoors. i have 4 seeds and my question is will the 18inch flourecent light do anything? and on the actual light bulb it says F15T8/D, does this show how much watts is puts out or how much watts it uses? and on the back of the flourecent light houseing it shows the model # and under it, it says "120V 60Hz 15W", so what does this mean?please help me out, and give me some other tips related to this topic.
A flourescent light with regular cool white bulbs will definately work well enough to serve your needs although I pesonaly think 4 plant's under an 18" light is a waste of space. I can usually fit 130 plants under one 18" light untill there about a foot tall before I take them outside. Just remember to keep your light no more than an inch or so above ur plants after they sprout or else they'll get tall and lanky because flourecents are very low intensity.
not at all impossible, I use regular 4 unit plastic grow containers and in the middle of each quad is enough room to fit one of those little round cups used for making jello shots. It's a tight fit but very possible, and like i said, I only let them get a foot tall before I take them outside.
holy **** dude, 130 under 18" of flouroescence? i saw 99 clones in the garden section and they had about 2" of medium each and they took up a LOT of space... thats like, a feat of sorts... (Edited by superboy at 2:43 pm on May 7, 2003)
