yeah well i guess its a matter of prefrence i like some of the underground stuff but some of it just has lyrics that are what i consider kind of lame, i grew up slangin dope and toting a pistol always had a nice car and shit so i don't mind listening to all that other shit cause thats more how shit was for me except i never rolled a benz or a bentley nor anything with 22's i liked fast cars so i drove a mid 400 HP turbo eclipse. Also i'm from texas we don't give a fuck about shit unless you cause problems for us then its another story but for the most part man i'd rather be blown bangin screw they just about anything i don't know it just brings a smile to my face.
How could I not? Atmosphere is definatly sick. Hey skunky.. there is alot of underground hiphop that is actually upbeat. Meaning not talking about slangin dope and whippin bentleys. Immortal Technique.. is one of my favorites. You may have to listen to his shit a few times because his lyrics are so sick. But he also has a few "gangsta" tracks like "caught in the hustle", or "dance with the devil". In dance with the devil Technique describes a young man growing up with one thing on his mind... wanting to get payed the Tony Montana way. It takes you through all the steps he goes to try to get in with his crowd... and there is a suprising ending.
