i am a newone to growing so try and stick with me.ha..alright im wanting to make my own hydro setup to grow only about 2 to 4 plants from seed to flowering..im looking for a quiet and efficient setup..which type of setup would suit me best..possibly dwc? thanks
DWC would be easiest, with a hydro cloner tub later down the line for cuttings. If you want a one light setup, get a high powered HPS of at least 400 watts.

there's also a really good diy dwc on this forum that uses a rubbermaid tub. if you search around the net you can see a couple of peeps using a similar design with 3 or 4 plants. i'm kinda in the same boat as you, wanting to get started with about 4 plants and such. just do a lot of research, which is what i'm doing. personally, i don't like having a bunch of buckets (for space reasons). i would like one or maybe two containers. also, dunno if you're interested, but i read an article in skunk that uses hydro and soil by putting two square pots together. might be worth a try. i think it would be easier for a beginner, like myself. anyway, good luck and happy growing!

With four plants you could go with DWC but instead of using the typical tall rubbermaids you could go with those ones that are made to fit under the bed, they are short and wide/long (they have them at places like Home Depot and Lowes). More surface area = room for more plants and still the simplicity of having one resevoir They are also good if height is a problem. Good luck! I love my DWC.
thanks for stopping by and giving some input..hhhg the hempy bucket is what im going to go with..just a few questions and this is probably a real comminsince question but due to me being pretty damn stoned right now im not able to figure this out ha..this is my first grow and its gunna be started by seeds..i know that you need clones to start with for the hempy bucket so how do i get clones..do i have to grow a female plant to start off with then cut the clones? thanks
Ummm, yeah. If you want clones, you either need a friend with clones or a female plant you can get clones from.
Nope Seedlings work just as well. I would use some free bag seeds for your first couple of grows until you are happy with the results.
o ok so you can start from seed with the hempy ..sounds good..i was wondering if anyone here has used the hempy bucket with fox farm nutes??thats what im plaining on doin because the store about an hour and a half away from here carries them and we have no store closer..just wondering how they worked for ya

I would start out at 1/4 strength and work your way up until you find out how much food your plants like... Remember that different variety's of MJ like more or less, so just start out slow on the feedings
