Well here is how my plant is doing from day 5 from germ. I posted these pics before but I want to show my plant as a time line from when I first started and explain all the mistakes I have made and learned from. This is my plant at 5 days after germ, (the one on the left). watering every other day with non Ph adjusted water. 9 days, same watering. every other day non ph no nutes. 15 days, showing signs of N def.?? I dunno but shes hungry. I started her on grow big and watering with ph adjusted water. 19 days, 4 days after I started feeding. looking better! 30 Days, I just now started her on grow big and big bloom. 36 days old, been on the correct feeding for 6 days. Just in the last freaking 6 days it looks like she doubled in size. a couple things I learned in this first grow will help me with my next grow. Im thinking about putting her on flowering in the next week or so. and we will see how she goes. I still need to pick up a flowering light and some tiger bloom. :growin:
Hey Niz! Looks like you've done well in nursing it back to health! I'm not sure if I remembered correctly that you started out in Miracle Grow soil? It gets a lot of crap talked about it because it's got time release fertilizer in it already... this can skew your feeding needs... But the point is that it may be too "hot" for your seedlings. I had that experience starting seeds in FFOF soil. The thing to watch as far as first feeding needs go is the first set of leaves (the seed leaves, cotyledons). They have all of the nutrients that your plant needs early on, when they start to yellow, start feeding. If the other leaves a yellow and/of crusty and cotyledons are not yet yellow, you are likely looking at a "nute burn" rather than shortage of N, indicating that your soil is too hot. That's why they have "seedling mix" soil available (although TBH I've not ever used it). I use Roots Organics soil which is very similar in content to the FFOF but doesn't burn my little ones or require lime. If you are flowering with CFLs, then yes do it soon. They have very little penetrating power. That is to say if you have a tall plant under CFL's only the top buds closest to the light with be very developed and if there is a lot of plant between the pot and the light most of it won't produce well developed bud. So not much gained from a longer veg and bigger plant. BUT, if you're planning to get an HPS then I'd recommend giving it a chance get a little bigger for a better yield since it's just one plant. That's my .02 well maybe .03:laughing5: Looking good overall, keep it up! Grat
Hey there looking good man mine are just at the stage to start feeding i was just wondering wat product you used there Nilzar, loooks like your getting some good results.
Ok first gratitude's question, Yes I started out with MG soil. I did not hear about any seedling soil in anything I've read so far. Up untill about 13 days everything seamed fine everything was nice and green. But then the lower leaves started yellowing. Replys to my post indicated the plant needed some food. Thats when I started feeding. To answer CanadianCannabis's question: I first transplanted out of the MG soil to Foxfarm Organic Soil. And started feeding FoxFarm Grow Big 1/4 or 1/2 str nutes (I can't remember) with proper Ph adjusted water. Later I come to find out I should of started out with a mix of Grow Big and Big Bloom. per the foxfarm web site http://www.foxfarmfertilizer.com/soilfeed.pdf But just useing the Grow Big made a big difference, But after I started her on the grow big and big bloom mix she really took off... Just look at the 30 day pic VS the 36 day pic. she just about doubled in size. so i am going to follow the FF feeding cycle to the t, as far as flowering I am going to wait a week and see how she looks. hopefully I will be able to afford a 400W HPS light for the flower if not ill settle for a 250W. But I will not flower under CFLs, I don't even recall seeing any CFLs in the flower spectrum. But also I wasnt looking.
