Is it possible to grow a garden completely through flower under 100% fluorescent lights?? If so any suggestions would be great but i dont want to hear "get a hps" because i know that works but im experimenting with fluorescents . So please any tips or suggestions about flowering under fluorescents would be great...thanx
Yes it can be done...seen it happen right here on GK long ago. The trick is getting a shitload of them all around the plants. ..top and sides. When you go to flower you want warm whites instead of cool whites. These have a red spectrum which is what you need for flowering.
Take a look at my garden.. its been totally done under flos. the plants are a month old and i already have one female showing...the garden is titled The Doc's 2nd Gardens
It can be done. Leaves and flowers that are more than 6" from the bulbs will not develop and/or photosynthesize. The trick is getting all of the plant up close to the bulbs. Successful harvests under fluorescents usually require bulbs everywhere and/or a lot of plant-training. End results are almost always less than ideal in terms of quality, quantity, and cost.
i am growing under all flo's and would appreciate any help on my setup my first garden i harvested around 4 oz off of 6 plants not great but i was shocked i could actually do it. I have since added 4 more lights mounted horizontally. and am waiting for the end of the year to purchase a hps light, and so much needed basic stuff. thanks GK for all the help so far.
