I think that one reason is that mostly older people are the ones that do this sort of thing is that it takes a really well put together, organized, and independent minded person to really have the drive to take this kind of thing seriously. I'm relatively young (just turned 30 last October) and our generation is the A.D.D., Facebook, push-button, Mario Bros., instant gratification generation and this is a long term spectator sport of sorts. The desire to do this kind of thing is "old fashioned' in nature to our spoon-fed, soft and frilly generation. That's why we have a terrorist problem. All our enemies are lean and mean and we're soft and frilly here in the U.S.

Growing weed is taking your weed smoking destiny into your own hands and that's an attitude that has been starved out of our push-button, post-industrial world of today! The young-uns don't know what they're missing!

Totally dude. I have always been naturally inclined toward plants, and was raised caring for a large and diverse garden. I still did about a year of more intense research than anything I've done in college since, and it's taken me two years of hands on experience to get where I am today.

I've told my friends what they're missing out on, and they all would rather mooch $100 a week off their parents for extra beer than save and study in order to make pounds. I've damn near had to beg to get someone to get his medical card and make me his caregiver... and that guy legitimately uses it for medical purposes already.

I think there is also an independence factor. American lower and middle class education is a sheep breeding ground. None of the people who have the inclination to rebel enough to grow their own marijuana have the drive to study how to do it right, and none of the people with the ability and/or drive to learn have the inclination to put themselves at risk in any way. Can't really blame them when the most traumatic experiences of their lives is when their parents spanked them for sneaking into the cookie jar.

Good Luck BP! Hope you study hard and keep opening doors for yourself and your family!

True, dat. Plus, you gotta be prepared to stay home. A LOT. Ive had so many timer malfunctions, I dont even use one anymore. I physically turn my lights on and off, LOL. So...I cant leave home for more than a few hours. Having a Grow is a little like having an infant---you cant leave it for long and you dont trust anybody else to care for it properly.
