So I've started flowering grow #2 now, and I have a seedling ready to veg for grow #3. Unfortunately I only have one grow space at the moment, so my little seedling is just sitting in my bathroom... If the dark period is interrupted multiple times each night, is that a bad thing? :roulette::laughing1::laughing1:
For sure Hello spinkler, you ask a good question. I think that mj plants need consistant light scheduals. And if there light period is being interrupted frequently then it does create a situation where the plant may get stressed. It may also possibly hermie on you because of the stress and will stunt growth. I recommend that when it's time for night since it's still a baby to put it in a cupboard or in a drawer. Depending on the size under the sink. This way the light schedual isn't interrupted. And your plants can grow up healthy. Take care.
Thanks for the response guys. Joe, I gave that a thought, but the lighting in there is so bad that the poor little thing would stretch so badly. The daylight through the window gets quite bright, so that's why I put it in the bathroom for now. Good idea with the drawer, but I'm worried I'll sleep in and give it a few too many nights of 12/12, lol! I'm thinking that Joe's solution may be the lesser of two evils in my case, given my late sleeping patterns. I only need it to veg in there for a few days until I can discover the sex of my flowering plant, then I'll take it from there and set up a small veg cabinet if I need to.
I've had this issue. I let the plant stay in with the flowering plants for 9-10 hours, that was my goal, just incase I forgot, I still had time to go get it out. You can get a cardboard box, hang a couple 27w daylight CFL's in there, and run it for another few hours to keep it in veg. or a drawer. Just open your mind up, and you'll find the perfect place for that bitch. Or just go ahead and make a little tiny cabinet, maybe out of cardboard, whatever, and set up a CFL bulb or two. Then do your thing bro. - *WiZaRD-
I think you'll find its going to stretch regardless of the light schedules in the bathroom. The light from the window maybe bright but it will not be enough.
That's what I was thinking. Even if your window faces East you'll never get more than 5-6 Hours of direct light. That said, though it seems to be a matter of debate, my backyard grows never seem to be affected by the porch light or the florescents near the garage even well after sundown in the flowering months. And we'll be out there hootin' and Hollerin' for hours at a time. *Shrug*
24 hrs lights if it gets good light most of the day it should'nt stretch i kept a single 13 watt floro its equal to a 60 watt incandescant on in my green house while i vegged my indoor plants to size i think the sun made the bud sites stack up better than the 1,000 on 18... it also saved me 18 killowatts every day fr 6 weeks
:icon_scratch: Are you saying you keep a 13w cfl on in your green house 24/7 while you use the sun to veg your plants. or You veg soley with a 13w light?
Just a thought Ok I was thinking about this for a while. You want to make sure that your plants veg healthy and you need space for them. How about you place the veg plants in one tray and the put them in the flower chamber with the flower plants if there's space of course. Then when the 12 hrs are up you put them in the bathroom to get some more light from the window. And when your ready to put them inthe dark. You pu a cards board box over them or put them in a cupboard or draw. I came up with this idea because it's the cheapest method because your using tools already available to you. So no cost but you do have to move the plants twice a day. Not sure if that fits inyour schedual. But to be honest I think that buying a 1 or 2 23 watt cfls and a cardboard box would be the best solution. Then all you would have to do is turn the light on and off instead of constantly moving your plants around. Just a thought. Good luck.
nope i veged with te sun for the lst part of fall & used the cfl to keep the plants from flowering until i moved them in the flower room in late fall befor it got too cold & saved not vegging under a hid
