If someone is so kind enough to tell me a formula on predicting the dry weight out of 254g wet cola? I had to chop a couple tonight due to FUCKEN!! mold , I have dealt with mold before and I hate it. didn't even think twice...cut it out cried and never looked back..... At least the worms in the bin don't mind.
I completely agree with multip by .25. I always advocate doing a more pessimistic formula so that if anything you're happily suprised. I have however personally seen 29, and 31% retention. I've HEARD of 40%, but I have no idea if it's true or not. I could see where it might be - for instance, minimal plants under a shit ton of light with optimal grow conditions for the right strain. - *WiZaRD-
I'm with Wiz, 30% of wet weight is what dry comes out to for me. V, the extra 5% might be because your last grow was cfl. My guess is you'll do closer to 30%+ now that you're running HID. cheers,
I didnt get those numbers based on personal experience but rather from the interwebz. Just seems to be a good roundabout number without being disappointed. I didnt weigh my bud wet because I hung it with larger stems attached to make for easier hanging. Personally I dont even care aboht the numbers as long as the smoke lasts until the next harvest asssit:
I find about 75% of my harvest weight is leaf and water. 25% is actual dry cured budz. I'm sure I'd be right at 30%, like RR stated if I calculated my wet weight without leaves. If I have 1000 grams harvest weight on a plant, I end up with roughly 250 grams . . . I weigh the entire plant at harvest, then weigh it again when it goes into the jars . . . my "fishing" scale isn't very accurate, so I'm not sure the harvest weight is correct. But, either way it seems the room agrees on the same general percentage .
