hi all, Well I had fun today harvesting "#2" today, which is the first plant of my first garden to get the axe. This plant yielded 315 grams (wet) of manicured bud plus a nice little 3/8" ball of "finger hash". I had 3 tokes of the FH and it was super tasty and sweet, a real treat. Life is pretty rosy and fine right about now... It (#2) was the third largest of the five bagseed plants I have here. Tomorrow is #3's turn, that one appears to have a bit more buddage than #2 had. I'm using Ranger's drying and curing method on the spoils. Just wanted to share my joy with you guys who have held my hand and helped me along with this project. As always, I think you all are AWESOME! Sky
Congrats Sky! Been smokin' that finger hash myself these past few days. Smoked a few J's the size of my pinky too. I love harvest time.
Hey trees, congrats man. Man, 315 G's, Awesome. How big was she? I harvested most of my jogged plant today also.I'm feelin' no pain. I took all the colas off and Im gonna let the lower buds go another week.. Gonna follow Ranger's advice on the "Cure". If this stuff tastes half as good as it looks/smells I'm gonna be in heaven. Check out my first 2 grows: http://SO-X-ITED.overgrow.com Anyway, cant wait to get a smoke report from ya.
Hey guys, thanks for the comments. Xcited, that plant was over 6 ft by at least 3-4 inches. It weighed more than I anticipated but a friend is a jeweller and I used his gram scale so I think that the weight is accurate. I did the #3 plant today, which was a couple inches taller but not as dank smelling. It produced 372 grams!! I'm thinking that perhaps I'll have close to half pound dry out of these two plants alone. I've got to get some pics of the buds for you guys, even though I have no idea of what kind it is (seeds came out of a bag, I was told it is Yumboldt, but who really knows?) it's really pretty stuff. Lovely green with red hairs, and plenty of crystals. I can hardly wait till it's cured and ready to sample. I got another sweet nug of finger hash which seems even more potent than yesterday's goods. I just LOVE good hash and wish I had the means of making some from the bud trim. Have a great night, Sky
talltreetopsnsky: Don't just love smoking your own suff! Sounds like you did a good Job.....Congrats!
"Congrat's sky...You'll never be the same ...BTW...hash ain't that difficult, all the materials needed are readily available, a bag a ice, a paint filter, and a coffee filter. The process is plumb simple, give it a try, results are astounding.
hi all, here's an update. Yesterday I finished harvesting the last of the 5 plants. The tallest of the group was slower maturing and appeared to be more of a sativa type plant than the indica sort. That one yielded 408 grams wet. The short little Indica only produced 54 grams wet, (it was a slow germinator, slow grower, had some deformed leaves early on, but I kept it anyhow just to see what would happen). The finger hash off of that little Indica plant was real KICK ASS stuff. It was nearly psychedelic, even my husband was impressed with that stuff!! I can hardly wait to try the bud! The indica plant was the only one that was partially seeded, and I also found a clump of yellow bananas when harvesting that plant. Kind of nice that my other ladies were not seeded too, since they were all in the same room sharing the same light. All together, I harvested 1359 grams wet off of the five plants... I figure if I lose 75% weight through drying I might end up with around 340 grams dried weight. I am really happy with this, as it was my first grow from unknown (bag) seed. Hubby is likewise impressed and is now talking about building me a clone/mother room. I cloned the #2, #3, and #4 plants, and have 4 good looking healthy clones here now under the HPS light (they had been under floros up until last night). I'll have a go with these ladies and then I'm going to plant some REAL seeds. I have been accumulating a variety and now have the following strains: Hollands Hope, White Widow, Serious White Russian, Growi the Afghaan, Matanuska Tundra, KC-33, DP Blue Moonshine, KC Sweet Dreams, Chocolate Chunk. I figure that will tide me over for quite awhile. Naturally, the plan is to keep a mother plant from each variety, will grow one variety at a time. Hey HiCountry, I have to ask you if you can point me in a direction to learn how to do the hash thing with a paint filter and a coffee filter. I have seen the thread at overgrow regarding the Bubble bags. Those look awesome and I expect to be getting a set at some point in the future (when finances permit). However I guess like starting off with bagseed, I would like to give hash making a try before laying out the dinero for the equipment. So BIG THANKS to all of you guys who have encouraged me along in this venture. I've got a nice stash of bud now and some killer finger hash to enjoy for a few days. I realize my grow is nothing in comparison with what you guys tend to produce, but I'm still real happy with it all being it was my first time around. I know I couldn't have pulled this off without all of your help. Blessings and thanks, Sky
Congrats Talltree .... With the variety of seeds you have, it'll be fun watching your next few grows.. Good luck with your future grows.
wow that is awesome. i can not wait for the glorious day when i have my first harvest. im really happy for you. make sure to let us know what the dry weight actually is once they're done drying
Enjoy the smoke. Hard work is justly rewarded; except for biologists, parents, dentists, method actors, songwriters, contractors, farmers....come to think of it, forget what I said and toke up.
Cool cool...I am glad everything turned out so well...to enjoy the fruits of ones own labors is a reward well deserved. congrats...
