Listen up, i know ive been growing for 5 years now, and yes i have looked online but i want to get an official comment from someone who KNOWS %100 for sure... Ive had some plants growing under my light for about a month or so and i JUST switched em into 12/12 like 3 days ago. The one plant that is doing really well has some balls or CALYX? like things hanging off it. These things showed up before i even switched em into 12/12. If its a male, why would it show its sex when it was still under 18/6? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE REASSURE ME THAT THESE ARE NOT MALE POLLEN SACKS!!!! PLEASE!!!! Now keep in mind, i know they look like balls, but how is that possible before even going into 12/12 for a week first?
Yep, that's a male. Kill that bastard, unless ya want seeds. All of my Lemonberry plants showed sex on 18/6 lighting, males and females.
FUCK ME.... Thanks guys. I thought so... Go figure its always the biggest and healthiest plant too... LMAO! thanks again.. asssit: :flyy: :flyy: :flyy: :flyy: :flyy: :flyy: :flyy: :flyy: :flyy:
Ive had that happen, once. Same thing--one plant showed balls in 18/6 at about six weeks old. Yours is a month? Kinda early, but it sure looks pure male to me. Dix
Another quick question.... I still had my bag of dry leaves from last seasons STOLEN crop and i noticed there is a bunch of white dust particles in the bottom of the bag. It basially looks like flour but compressed into tiny pieces, not a fine dust. I used chemical ferts last year. Does that have anything to do with it? I never sprayed anything on the plants themselves though. Why would there be white dust at the bottom of the bag. And no its not crystals.
Yeah that makes sense. It did look like that white shit that builds up on an old hat that youve been sweating in for years.. lol Well it turns out i got one female out of 4 seeds. Fucking blows. Its always the smallest plant too. Now im going to have to start looking for clones for this summer... I guess i could try cloning this girl, just to see if i can do it.
I have always sexed my plants before 12x12 by looking at the pre-flowers. Thats with the lights on 24/7
Mold?!? do you have a pic, or atleast what kind of storage conditions? I've never seen it as a cakey substance, but have found white powedery mildew before in a big ass bag leaves that I thought was going to do something with, never got around to it. Pretty sure it was mold, leaves and stems where still fresh when I threw em in there "hefty bag" Salt could be a winner though
Hey i got another quick question... How long does it take for a clone to start a root system, and how much to they grow, if at all in the 1st week or so??? I cut two clones dipped em in rooting stuff, and got em in a humid tray under a 400w HPS. Why havent they improved??? Anyone? Thanks.
It can take up to two weeks for roots to appear. They do not start to grow until there is en established root system. Most clones root in a week once you have it dialed in. They don't need a huge amount of light pre-root, either.
Ain't that the truth. Males always seem to grow better for me, too. Best of luck with the next round, Dan! question number 2: I've seen that, too. I'm 90% sure it's mold, but can't know 100% without pics. question number 3: 400w hps IS very intense for cloning. I have tried under HIDs and under Flouros and my results are usually better under flouros. Could be heat issues, could be light issues, not sure. I just know what works for me. I believe that it can take up to a month for a plant to root (as in, sitting in a cup of water on a windowsill or something, not in a controlled environment. Heard that from some old pro on here about a grandma's vegetable gardening technique). But what whoever said was accurate. Usually you can tell if the girl's worth keeping after 2 weeks. By then it'll either be at least most of the way rooted or most of the way dead.
