    Ok; here's tha G.O

I started growing my plants in my cupboard with a fan and a light, but as a begginer at all this I just used a normal lamp. I let them set in their for at least a week or two not knowing tha lamp was doing nothing but force growing tha stem. After I read about what I was doing wrong I then re-potted tha plants and transported them outside in direct sunlight for 2 weeks straight. Tha stems on them were bloody huge! there was only tha two round leaves on top with say a 9 to 8 centimetre stem. I then thought to hold them up with sticks and for tha smaller ones, toothpicks, After a week or two realised they wernt growing. So I buried tha stems inside tha soil so their was only say 3 centimetres of stem poking out tha soil then holded them up again. Most of my plants already died during this whole thing lol I then rested them in tha sun 12 hour cycle everyday for at least a week, only 2 survived and they are growing well. Ok my next problem is, I was thinking of growing these plants organicly; I was wondering what soils and fert's to ask for, where is good places to buy flurecent lights, and what type of bulbs to purchase. I have no idea about growing it this way, I have read plenty of forum topics on growing, I am abit sure but I would just like some tips or even a guide on my whole grow..It would be very appreciated.

Go to the FAQ section and read, read, read.

Do a search on-line for a grow guide. Anything by Ed Rosenthal is good.

    Education is the key.

The more you know, the more you'll grow.

p.s. the 2 remaining plants you have have been through hell and stressed to the max. Start over with fresh seeds.

I started to germinate four new seeds which I found yesterday, I have put them in a cup of soaked tissue in fridge for 24 hours..I've got them on my window shelf. How do you think I should grow these ones?

go to any hardware store and buy some soft (warm) white bulbs and cool white flouros, as for ferts, during the veg stage use pete's 20-20-20, and for flower stage use miracle grow bloom booster. do not use ferts for about the first 2-3 weeks of sprouting. oh yeah use superthrive one every watering. good luck

Whoa, whoa dice music. your seeds wont germ if you put them in the fridge. They need warmth and moisture.

and to answer you question on the white bulbs, yes we mean flourescents

Joint effort; No I am saying I put them in tha fridge for 24hours then I took them out..I know they aint going to germinate in cool temprature. By putting your seeds in tha fridge for 24hrs it makes them think it's winter and as soon as you place them into a warm medium, they will be dying to germinate their roots. Thanks

You can save the plants you grew still by repotting them make sure that the round leaves are about a half inch to inch from the surface of the ground bury the rest of the stem it will sprout roots this way

Always make sure you transplant you plants least amount of times as possble.

and don't buy grow lights buy regular florescent lights 40 watts and you will need a couple of them totalling 100 watss or more depending on how many you want to grow

yo newguy; your telling me to read when Im asking questions? Come on man; chill out for just one second, this aint no battle board. If you didnt know tha answer then why did you post up saying "read read read". Thats just saying that you dont know it aswell. Why is everyone biting each others heads off just because we dont know as much information on growing than others? Its interesting; Ego's getting over you. Thankyou

ps: And if anyone know's if thats a grow light can you please inform me, thankyou. dice

Dice I believe what everyone is trying to say is that many of these questions have been ask a lot in the past and can be found in the FAQ section. You may find that if you take some time to read thru the FAQ's that many of the questions you have in mind will be answered. This will leave the board open for further questions as you progress. Think of it this way....you would not jump in a car and go for a drive down the highway without first learning how to drive. Same thing apllies here....the more knowledge you have before growing...the better your chances of have a successful grow. The more ya know the more ya grow, but we are not here to babysit....we all did our homework first.

Damn; I see how this is now, everyones too busy concentrating on their problems and not helping other people deal with theirs. All I asked was if my light was designed to grow plants, I didn't ask you how to germinate seeds, or how to sex plants. You guys might think im really new at this, but I aint. This is my first time i've decided to share my growing information and garden pictures in a forum or even a actual website; and I'm getting ****? -dice

No Dice...I myself am not giving you ****, nor am I refraining from helping you as you may have seen in other threads. Just some questions are asked quite a lot and it gets tiresome answering the same questions over and over. There are several newbies here who recieved the same avice to read the FAQ's and they came back from reading with a new found look on everything and even came up with some great new ideas of their own. An answer to your question such as whether your light is good for growing or not would be located right here for you to read about....Lighting types

o it is not a grow light. just get a bulb socket the push and twist one and bye one of those energy saving compact flourescent lights or even two that s what im doing and my plants are flowering ok .

Thanks for tha advice on tha lights. I am going to purchase some tomorrow, Im only going to buy one, I was thinking of HPS but I dont know if they sell that where I am. If I can't get HPS; I'll try for MH, but if I can't find any of them both, I'll have to settle with tha Flourecent's. I'm going to shop around, it's going to be hard for me, because I am a begginer at this lights thing, I'm sorry If I have upset anyone. I have read nearly every thread on tha Q&A and begginer formus, so I wont be asking anymore question that wont need answering. I got one more question tho, it's nothing to do about lights; its got to do with my plants. I read that I grew my plants and they turned into "Leggy's", and this whole time I didnt even know that, I thought they were healthy and growing normally. Tha stems on each plant was about 9 to 10 cm's long with only two tulip leaves on top, I decided to transport them into bigger pots. After I did this I didn't realised I just gave them "transplanting shock", I had no idea of all these problems I was having. If you look on my plant pictures, I found another problem with how I grew them; There are too many plants in a small area, I thought that at tha very start but didn't pay any attention. I just read today that I just "root bounded" them, in other words; tha roots have intwined with each other and became compact. After I realised how many problems I had; I fixed them all up and did exactly what growkind told me, I put them out in tha sun for 18/6 and my babies have shown much improvment in strength of stem and colouring of leaves. Ok now this is my last question I got to ask; I have been growing this two plants for nearly 4 weeks now and I was wondering If I could give them tha 12/12 and try flower them now? What do you guys think ?

i would go with fish emulsion or squantos secret 2-4-2 you can use this on about any soil ,with out chances of burn even on schultz or miracle grow prefertilized soil, alot safer for beginners.you can even adjust the ph of your water and use on 2day old seedlings ts so safe! let your water sit for a day too, dont alternate waterings with fresh tap water you will get two diff. runoff phs,use 1 or the other, both wont work.

the plants are to small to flower need at least a foot tall.there small for 4weeks check water ph. and amount of water.is that prefertilized soil? if so try adjusting water ph with fish emulsion.gets food and adjusted at same time dont try this with chemical fert. on this kinda soil.sams choice is easy to work with.peace.
