Didn't see that, what time in the video are you noticing it? I do see that the bulb may look used or something, slight discoloration on then ends from where it either was ignited, or burnt up.

Chaz did the bulb even attempt to fire? Any sparks, colors, smoke or anything?

I would check your reset and go from there. Please though make sure nothing else is running on that circuit, 1ks pull like 10 amps I believe, you have some room on the circuit not much and you don't want to overload a circuit when it's trying to ignite.

That's what I am talking about. At the very beginning of the video you can see on the bulb where it screws into the socket that the bulb has a black ring around it. Only time I have ever seen that is on a used/burnt bulb. I have a bulb that looks exactly like it that is two years old and has been used for at least 4 grows.

At your age I figured you needed the extra support of the tighty whiteys:kidding:

About the ballasts though there was an issue for a minute of eyes and a few other bulbs not firing in electronic ballast because of the startup voltage. Eye and the other major brands fixed the problem, don't know about the bulb he's using though.

personally when that was happening I rocked an eye in an digi with no problems

Very true about the ballast. No red/green light unfortunately. I tried putting my 400w MH bulb in there, it sparked up for a sec and went out. The ballast can take any bulb that fits in the mougle that's not more than 1K. It also adjusts itself from MH to HPS. Don't have a magnetic ballast to use. =/

I tightened everything up nicely, and tried to power it on again, no luck. The ballast turns on and I can hear it run, but no light. I contact the seller. The bulb came in great condition, no movement at all or loose anything inside the bulb, the package was also package extremely well.

I don't know if the ballast has a reset switch or something similiar, but I'll check though. This is my 4th iPower ballast combo package, and all of them still work great till this day, they don't have the greatest bulb, but I usually replace the bulb anyway. The bulb should def fire up though. My jammies are what I've been liven in for the past few days! xD

Are you speaking of the 1K light? I'll take better pics of the light and post them, but to me the bulb looked flawless. I'll check better here in a little while.

The bulb never even lit up for a second. I can only hear the ballast come on. I have it plugged in to the single circuit with it on it by itself. Also, there was never any sparks, colors, smoke, or anything of that sort, it just didn't turn on.

It was a brand new bulb fresh out the packaging.

    - I'll post some detailed pics of the light housing and the bulb here in a little an update the thread. Something tells me it's not getting enough power to turn on. =/

    Edit: (Pics of 1000w light)

did u then try and hook your 400 watt back up to your 400w ballast and see if it will strike?

For one thing: you shouldn't be handling a bulb with your bare hands.

So no real ideas on how to troubleshoot this anyone?

I think everyone is referring to the inner part of the tube, the element, if you look you can see the little black ring on it. I think the end where it screws in is normal

It has obvis been struck before before of the discoloration. Most all places test bulbs before they ship, but I am totally against Chinese bulbs....others use them all the time, personal preference on that.

Did you buy online? If bought from a store, or you have a hydro store near you, load up the equipment and have it tested. Most will do it for free, then charge you if you have a problem with it. If bought online, call who you bought it from and going throw diagnostics with them.

Here is what I came up with for my exhaust system. Both tents running separately to a false window. Plus we have cold winters in PA, so keeping the room cool should be a breeze.

I'm one of the nuts. I think the Eye is top followed by lumatek. The biggest thing is the color spec for me. Not just lumens, but what color the light is and if the plant can use it.

you have 6 90 degree turns on the six inch duct you're running and another six on the 4 incher. Looks like it'll end up being 20 feet long ish apiece?

I highly suggest you read THE BIBLE's section on hooking up venting. That'll answer your venting questions.

It's not a terrible idea but I'd put money on you having some residual smell getting pumped outside and it's not as efficient as it could be.

And yeah, i was looking at the white rod in the middle. The bulb's been fired before.

last thing - I'm a bulb nut too. Spectrum's super important and having different spectrums can help with different parts of the cycle I thought.
