Hey guys.. I have recently built a new cab.. It is 5'5' tall x 4' wide x 2' deep. This is my first time with a cab so, I would appreciate any advise given. I wanna set it up for the highest possible yield with what's available. I have a fixture that can house up to three bulbs or is it better to just hang the bulb and socket vertically in these cabs? I have 2 400 hps and I have multiple 150 hps if needed. This cab will be dedicated to flowering. It's lined with reflective film also.
Almost identical to the frankenfridge in dimension. The two 400w will pump the shit out of the cab but heat is going to be you're biggest issue. Minimum of 300cfm to keep things cool.
I have two inline fans... One is like 440 cfm and other one is like 240 i believe... One for intake one for exhaust?
I am using the bigger one for exhaust right now as is.. I just got them started almost a week ago.. Just want to make sure I get the best usage of the lighting. You saying the 400's in a fixture or no fixture? I was looking at steelcity smoker's pics and he runs his with no fixture with good results..also, how many plants you think would be most efficient in here? I wanna get a perpetual harvest if I can get it figured out...
use the bigger one to exhaust and do not use the other one at all, sealup all the edges and run a passive room, meaning itll suck in the cold air from the lowest point possible and suck it out from the highest point using the fan to suck only
Yup. I run cool tubes since height is a factor and it allows the plants to be closer to the bulbs without scorching. 4'x2' can comfortably accommodate 8 plants with minimal training in 2.5 gallon pots. If you want to SCROG, SOG or get into training your plants the variables are almost infinite from 1 to 12 plants.
run them both I would run 1 to move the air from an outside source through my light fixtures. Then I would have the other in the cabinet for ventilation on a thermostat
I guess I'm gonna have to cut a hole in the ceiling for the exhaust.. Which I was hoping to steer away from. But, when I turned that second 400 on it added alot more heat than expected. Or I guess I could put a window unit in that room maybe? Any ideas guys? I decided on hanging the bulbs vertically, with them horizontal they burned the tops of one.. I have trained the plants around the bulbs and I think it will work out well this way if I can only get a handle on the heat. Thanks in advance guys!
