p.s. im gonna use a t-5 4 bulb flourescent light set-up and then use the smaller CFL's they talk about on the side for supplemental lighting when the plants get bigger.. thanks again

That much weight out of cfls is absolute bull. I guarantee it. The electricity to usable lumen conversion ratio is like half what it is for HID lighting, and regular 26 watt cfls barely put out enough light to veg efficiently past week 2.

Do not believe anything that article tells you. It's utter bull. If you wanna grow with CFLs check out Happyhappyhighguy's microsog grows or Blackprince11's CFL grows. Those two guys do it right. HHHG's grows that I saw were like 1/8 per plant and idk what Blackprinces were but they're about as good as you can expect from a CFL grow focusing multiple lights on a single plant and they were nowhere near 16 oz.

By the way, you're from Spokane? Me too! My parents still live there! If you do get set up and need any tips or suggestions, I'd be more than happy to like meet you in a coffee shop and talk about your girls if you like when I visit home.

    I agree. There's no way he's getting 6 oz./plant!

    fluffy

Anything that you did get would be fluffy as hell you know all Airy. I know that those big dense fat nuggs only come from HIDs Expecially. 3 to 4 month old plant you should be able to get ut to 6 pounds off 2 1,000 watt lights. You should at least get two pounds. But seriously you would be lucky to get 6 ounces a plant period running that lack of light

It's been a while but now that I think about it. That's about what I got off of 6 plants 6 ounces each 3 months old 3 400 watt lights 2 HPS and 1 metal halide

That was my first flower cycle and I did it with organic fertilizer

I ran 1 plant per 1k watt and I got less than 1 lb per plant... 12 oz for 1 14 for the other. Course I didn't let them finish up (cut at 8 weeks) but still I can't see getting 3 lb for one plant.

The only systems that get that much for one 1k watter use multiple plants. Heath Robinson did a system that got almost 5 lbs off I think a 600w but that used like 90 plants.

If you want to increase weight you need either more plants per light or more light per plant. About the best I've seen out of 1 plant and 1 1k watt hps is 18 oz. I'm sure better is possible but not close to the 3 lb per plant range. At least not that I've seen. Maybe training a single plant in a vscrog around the light vegged for 4 months or something...

Just another nay. Those totals are WAY over stated. I have 6 plants in an ebb and flow and I'm hoping to get a half pound from them all under a 600 watt hps light. CFL's are nice because of the low cost/watt and the lower heat, but I've learned from a lot of error that they just won't do it. I think a lower watt hps like a 250 would yield you better results. Check out useless' formula for GH nutes. Way cheaper than fox farms and just as good imho.

Overall, the article has some good growing advice, but I do dispute his harvest claims. In fact, he even contraticts himself about the yield.

So, like everything else in life, read all you can, ask questions and find what works best for you.

Edit: He suggests LEDs for supplimental lighting. I would recommend against that. Throw in more CFLs if you need more light.

It's a comic monologue. Proof people will believe anything too good to be true. Even experienced growers struggle to maintain plants that yield 2-4 oz in a 3 month time frame using HID's. These two bozos want people to believe a few cfls can accomplish that with little or no experience? Bah!

Who is this Nebula Haze chick or Sirius Fourside guy? They have any actual cred anywhere?

I would struggle to hit 5oz WITH HID and even then its gonna be an optimum grow. Maybe growweedeasy.com should adjust their growguide:ponder:

Glad you've found GK. The FAQ and all the grow logs on here will keep you on the right tracks. I suggest you forget about that grow guide
