    Hey all

I have been doing some research but cannot really find a answer to my question so I was hoping someone would help me out.

I have my 3 week old seedlings in a tray growing outdoors in soil and am itching to transplant then to bigger pots, they have 2 sets of leaves so far is it too early to be thinking about transplanting?

just be careful and you'll be fine, make sure you don't break tap root if possible

Yeah, it's safe. As with all small plants, treat it easy. Just take the whole soil ball out of the tray, have the hole in the new pot already to go ( so the top of the soil is just below the surface. You can bury the stem deep if you want, just make sure the roots have room and aren't bunched up below the plant)

Well what I do is try real hard to get the biggest root mass I can early on.....one thing that works for me is to (slowly) transplant over time into containers jist a pinch larger each time....I won't transplant unless the root ball is just about bound....maybe 5 times before flowering....putting the plant right into a large container at a young age just won't build the root mass I'm after to support a heavy yeild later.....maybe do an experiment and see what becomes? Good luck bro.

I always transplanted into the pot I was going to use for the grow. The roots will fill it up and a lot less stress on the plant.
