yes i like the idea of changing the breaker for a larger one, but never done that before and i dont wanna die...LOL. i have a little time to consider my options.

For a/c systems, when we use a 50 or 60amp breaker the wire has to be at least 8 guage. If your wire isn't larger than 12 I'd suggest an electrician you can trust as it would require replacing the wires. If your wire isn't large enough for the amp draw it will get hot and eventually start a fire:danger:

no offense, but start planning how you're gonna do the ventilation now, because without a light proof room with a proper exhaust and intake, you're not gonna have much luck.

Edit: Just saw your intro thread and read that this is your 2nd grow. If you know your way around a garden, I'll stop posting such basic stuff. Just had the impression that this was your first ;)

yes its my second grow, my first was in a smaller walkin closet that i covered with mylar and it was winter time.I made many mistakes and nearly lost them towards the end. It was basically some strong bag seed in organic miracle grow, BTW the soil was infested with nats in it !

I still have the 600W hps which im gonna use. Im planning on venting and i know i must make it light proof.

I think i understand the basics because i have a strong interest and been reading posts here for a long time as a guest. I felt kinda weird joining if i had nothing growing.

I will be asking for advise because im a noob.`

I have been busy last two days with my job but the next two day im detacated to this grow!

This week i have $200 hundred i can spend. So please any advice is most appreciated.

I googled changing 15amp to 20amp breaker and found same data.

im gonna check the gauge of the wire AFTER i shut down the ciruit.LOL:bduh:

Panda film is cheaper than mylar and one roll can go a good way. A less expensive alternative would be flat white paint but NOT tin foil.

Any and all money you spend at the beginning like this should go toward security. It's the number 1 rule of the wise grower. You don't want to be sweating bullets with a bunch of flowering plants in the attic because you can smell the grow outside the house. So my suggestion is to get that ventilation set up so you can smell proof and light proof the room. Light upgrades can wait a bit (probably all grow, a 600w is a decent starting point), nutes can probably wait 2+ weeks, and most of the toys can wait too.

The only other thing besides finishing out the venting and security measures would be to make sure you have ph monitoring and adjusting stuff of some sort if you don't already.

THANK YOU Sirstynkalot!! I was under the impression it was much more. I just googled it and 25 foot roll of panda costs about the same as a premium gallon of paint. Im thinking of doing a tent type thing and sealing it up.....And my local home depot has in stock!

While im there im gonna get a 6" duct booster and dryer vent.

Oder control IDK yet need some advice im thinking i got a couple of weeks before it starts to be banging.

I have a ph test kit and my tap sucks 7.0 maybe a little higher it was dark!

Been using walmart spring water for now, it tests at 6.5 until at least i get some ph down.

    6.5 is good for soil.

Also remember booster fans are intended to boost airflow in a tube with a current. They can burn out pretty quickly if they're made to move air by themselves. It'll help but it's not a fix by itself. Don't want to see you get a fire from it or something

what he said, don't save money on the exhaust.... in my opinion, its the most important investment you'll make

I'm amateur on my 5th grow. Here are couple things I learned which helped me.

Below is pH chart. (You will find pH info varies online.) Remember that pH scale is not linear it's exponential (pH 5.0 is not 1/6th more acidic than pH 6.0 - it is much greater than 1/6th.) I use a $25 pH pen from Amazon which is great.

Purchased Reflectix 25-ft x 48-in Double Reflective Insulation at Lowes for $50. It reflects 97% of radiated heat (good in Winter) and I surrounded my small area with it. Big difference in lighting. http://www.lowes.com/pd_13358-56291-BP48025_0__?productId=3011906&Ntt=insulation+reflective&pl=1&currentURL=%3FNtt%3Dinsulation%2Breflective&facetInfo=

Moving lights horizontal will increase the (exposed) light bulb surface area so it will spread light easier than a vertical bulb.

Night time temp should be 5-10 deg. less than day time temp but no lower than 60 deg. F.

That looks really good bro, one thing though, you still really need to vent that exhaust out of your attic space. It's just going to heat the room which will in turn heat your tent. Throw a scrubber on that bitch and pump it out of the wall to outside using an a/c "boot", available at home /garden store, that will fit on the fan you have and run the duct out. You can also get a nice looking wall vent with a backflow damper when you get the boot and duct. I've seen up to 7" duct size vents. I'm not telling what to do, just throwing you an idea to look at. Luck on your grow!:passsit:

Thanks guys I have been using Walmart spring water which tested at 7.0 my tap is around 8. I like the chart, i think I will be looking at that often.

The exhuast now goes out of the attic thru a vent into my living room. I need a carbon scrubber but been keeping some big scented Yankee candles lit which seems to be working for now. I definately need to step that up when I go into flowering.

Right now my biggest challenge is battling spider mites.

My temps are 70* when the lights are off and 77* when on. I found it worked best for me the dark peroid during the hottest time of the day 11:30am to 4pm.

I know people usually go 6 hours of dark during veg but im not certain if my strains are auto flowering and I want to veg until they are about 3' to 4' in height.

In Veg I run a 20/4 light schedule. I you want the mites gone for good get some FloraMite or Avid. I'm telling you, they are the best spray on treatments out there. The various organic treatments have never been able to completely eradicate a Spider Mite infestation from my grow room. I battled them for a good whiile using different types of organic treatments but they would always come back a soon a I stopped treating every week or so. After I used FloraMite I haven't had a mite in months and months now and I don't do regular treatments for insects anymore.

Yeah, yeah. We've been down that road already. :BangHead: :kidding:

But in all seriousness, don't overuse any one type of pesticide. The FloraMite and Avid are just stronger non organic pesticides that IMO are more effective at complete eradication than repeated and constant treatments of various organic pesticides that never seem to really solve the problem, they just keep it under control but require constant reapplications to keep the infestation from coming back.

Like I said, I haven't sprayed for mites in months and my room is mite free. One cycle of treatment with FloraMite was all it took to completely rid myself of them. I treated once with a vengeance. I sprayed a couple gallons of spray on the plants making sure I got every single itty bitty crevice coated with the spray. Then I waited a few days and reapplied once more and that was it. Been at least 8 months now mite free.

I will be spraying them with neem oil before they go to the flower room just as a precautionary measure plus the plants seem to like it. But as for regular treatments I hope to not have to ever spray my plants during flower at all, even with organic pesticides.

With me being in a med state and producing medication for others I have to be able to hand any given dispensary owner a bud and have them put my meds under a microscope and be 100% certain that there aren't any mite carcasses on the buds or else they will straight up hand it back and say "not interested".
