I'm travelling from a medical state through another medical state arriving in a medical state. Anyone know if there are any issues if I get stopped and ganja is found? I have a Dr's rec. Thanks
I don't know but find out for sure. I would actually call someone. you don't want a charge because one state accepts your script and another doesn't. I would think it's kinda like CCW, you can have a ccw and a lot of states with like worded laws will allow you to carry, but some others states wont even if they have CCW on the book just because it's not worded the same If you can't buy in the state you are going to I would think about how good the script will be for covering you legally. I can take a script for antibiotics across state lines and have it filled, but would the state you're traveling to fill your script? Hope that makes sense, and please let us know so other people can find out. I know I've seen this asked before and never answered fully I haven't an honest answer, I'm from the smuggle that shit on board cause I don't live in a legal state and that's just how it is around here. If more that a days worth I just drive And the TSA, I think they obey Fed Law not state...call first, maybe the airline if not the TSA (whom I'm sure would say no)
Some states have reciprocity, some don't. Some only accept cards from certain other states. Depends on where you are going. Be prepared to be hassled either way... I'd do a search on MMJ reciprocity between wherever you're going and plan accordingly.
Another GKer who has visited me several times from a med state brings his meds to his home airport. If they find them he claimed he simply dumps them out since he's State legal. Arriving at a destination is never a problem since there's no bag or body search. He never carries anything home. Hit me up in PM and I'll clue you in on how to travel with meds. Don't know, but I would assume you WILL have issues if TSA catches you traveling with cannabis. If you are in a white market state, don't get lulled into feeling like it' all good anymore. It is most def NOT. I fly around America with small amounts of weed. I have down this 3 times in the last 2 years. PM if you want to know what I did.
The TSA turns you over to local police or ignores it if it is in a medical state. Whatever state you touch down in will be the laws you have to follow. Some of the medical states do accept other state cards, but you need to research before you go.
Thanks everyone. I'm driving so TSA is the least of my worries. I'm more concerned about being pulled over by a road cop. I'm taking my portable vape and a half ounce, maybe some cookies. The people we're going to see don't know I smoke so this will be fun.
Then simply check reciprocity in the med states you're traveling through. Check your lights, insurance card, vehicle registration, and above all, don't speed. :thumbsup:
back in the day when I traveled alot for work, I used to mail my pot to me..... Yeah U.S.P.S. they cant search unless there is a warrant, pack it in nice and tight put some laundry soap in there and send it to yourself at the hotel/motel...... When I did this, there was no pattern for the cops to follow as I moved around pretty randomly.... Best of luck man.. MAD MAX
