Never have had issues cloning.....ever But first time for everything. I cut a large batch of clones. They looked great and this morning went all limp
Wife called frantic because they were limp. She opened it up and placed them apart so they could get air. They were packed I'm there...but I don't know if it's that or super high humidity. Should I not mist em. Really thousands of clones, never had this issue. I might actually lose some and that never hppens
Depends on how old they are, yadda yadda. Me personally, I mist every other day, but I like to make sure there's water droplets on my dome at all times for the first week. I let them breath for about 15 minutes days 3-7 then I leave the dome off and just make sure the root plug stays moist. edit: I also don't pack them in there. Every other spot in the tray gets a clone.
I literally abuse clones and never this. I'll get some pic tomorrow. I almost wonder if pH was way off or something when I sold Rockwool. Still green but limp
Seems like the only time I have issues is when they packed into the dome, I've got about 30 in there now and some are wilting going into week 2
Since moving away from the dome and using the EZ-Cloner - I have never had a problem. My wife lost 2 domes of clones because of excessive humidity inside - all went limp and died. Might have been humidity or mold - will never know.... The EZ-Cloner has no dome - just have to keep everything clean as algae builds up quickly
Yup There are a bunch of manufacturers out there - I got a 36 site unit for around $50. It is basically a bucket with a submersible pump and spray manifold - it just sparys water around on the root/stems. The cuts are supported by foam collars. I get really full roots in a week or two. It was about 5 days I noticed it, just did 8 in the dome and at 1week with no spraying or water in in the bottom of the dome, they are gripping the rockwool cubes nicely, I put ten more in there 3 days ago with no issues yet. So maybe low humidity and spacing is our answer.

It took me a while to finally figure out that the dome was contributing to my poor clone success rate. Moving to an ez-cloner with no dome has taken me to 100% success. Best $60 I have spent in a long time
When I moved to rockwool after loosing a few clones in the dome I quit using it. As long as I baby them, its 100%. Really its the first 2-3 days after that, I am not sure. But because I baby them, they take way longer to root out of the cubes. The ez cloner sounds like a good investment. I do miss the soil clones in the dome. but with DWC, its easy to forget the soil mess.
I transplant from the cloner to solo cups with my normal hot soil mix in week to ten days - loaded with roots. The only thing in the cloner is 6.4 ph tap water - nothing else, no nutes or hormones needed. I airate the water with a small fish tank bubbler too
I had problems with my clones wilting this summer. Mine was caused when I took them out of the dome. The issue was being caused because I was misting them three to four times a day and this caused very high humidity under the dome. When I took them out of the dome and put them in solo cups they would wilt within the hour. When I went to only misting once a day the issue stopped. Between that and the 105 degree heat getting some, I probably lost a hundred clones easy.
I borrowed a sixty four site one from someone a couple of years back (lost some good black rose clones someone gifted me, you know who you are, thread is on here somewhere). I had it in the garage, on the floor in the winter. Most of the clones went to mush. Tried it in the summer too in an air conditioned room and could not control the heat from the pump and kept getting pythium. I think it's dumb as hell that they put the pump so it's submerged in the water, there has to be a better way. I'll stick with my domes.
I put the submersible pump in a pump filter bag - easier to clean the bag weekly when I change the resy. The filter bag also keeps the jets from getting clogged I also add a fish tank bubbler to keep the o2 levels up in the water. Temps - I run 78 degrees - I keep the cloner on a heat mat for that reason.
