maybe Im just getting old, or maybe its my brownies kicking in but I wonder the difference between making thc pills in my crock pot with coconut oil, vs drying out my weed really well pulverizing it in a blender and placing the ground up weed in my capsules without the coconut oil?
the coconut oil will be many times more potent per capsule. think of it this way, you can get 1/10 of the weight of bud with bho but have the same potency because it's more concentrated. when making oils, the oil acts as the carrier for the thc so you can fit many more times in the same mass vs buds which actually have a lot of things that just aren't needed for thc
To make pills you have to heat the thc first otherwise it is not active. I would sudgest making the rick simpson oil and putting it in capsuls. You literaly only need a half of a grain of rice size dab of it if you dont eat it much already. If you eat it often you will build a tolerance and will have to eat more to feel a buzz. I eat 1.5 grains of rice size in a capsul 3 times a day and dont get high but i had to step it up starting at half a grain. I dont want a buzz off it though, i can still smoke just a little and get as buzzed as i want. If you do want a buzz from eating it just take a couple grains of rice size and you should get fried.
The reason you would use coconut oil in infusions, is that it has the highest saturated fat content available. Those fats are what absorbs the Cannabinoids. This works well with edibles. With Capsules, the coconut oil has also been found to have medicinal properties, so this in combination with active cannabinoids is wonderful.
I've made it many many times, its just I have to eat so many, usually 12-15 at a time, when I dont eat these im doing brownies. brownies are getting me fat and the pills make me burp up the thc....its kinda weird. im ordering some triple 0 caps to step up the quantity in each cap. i was using double o's before. I cant smoke much due to health issues with my lungs, so all i do is eat. I just want as much thc in as small a dose as possible without the burps or the calories from the brownies.
Are you decarboxylating the buds or oil? Another trick to increasing potency of a cooking oil, or edible oil such as canna-coconut oil, is to add lecithin. Lecithin is an emulsifier that allows the thc and cannabinoids to be absorbed more readily. Don't use soy lecithin. Sunflower lecithin is preferred if you can source it. Add 1/2 teaspoon lecithin per 4 tablespoons oil.
I was using double 0's i dont recall how much fits but you can find em at amazon and it will list how much fits in a cap.
I'm not sure if you specifically want THC or if THCA will do, but you might want to look into juicing your cannabis. You don't get high off of it but you get the highest daily allowance of THCA and CBDA possible and you're pretty much drinking vegetable juice.
