Gadsden Flag, our first flag is now banned

how sad is this, and it sucks, now i will most likely be supporting trump in the fall just to end this madness.

we banned the confederate flag already because of SC shootings, not they are banning gadsden flag because it's racially oppressive.

that's why liberals have to be stopped, this shit is absurd.

the logic used was that it was created by a man that owned slaves, so by the same exact not even stretching logic, George Washington is going to be removed from schools and books etc because he owned slaves, jefferson also...etc etc etc

Where did you get this? There was an EEOC investigation that ended up with no ruling either way. Basically an accusation of the Gadsden flag being displayed as a racist emblem on a coworkers cap. The EEOC investigated the claim, came to no conclusion, and closed without ruling. Everything went as it should have. An accusation was made, an investigation was ordered, no ruling was made because in the eyes of the investigation none was needed. The Gadsden flag remains as a nonracial emblem allowable in in the workplace. Period, end of story. Any baiting being done is for some kind of grandstanding.

 

How is a neutral ruling the correct outcome?

The board stated it could be viewed as racial harassment, but didn't in this casregard.

Thus it effectively bans the flag as now employers can and will get sued if they see other employees.

The correct ruling would have been it's a patriotic flag and thus not offensive. Theven ruling was the complete opposite and instead of eeoe and the feds being the bad guys, they are making private companies do their dirty work or face lawsuits

Tell me res, if you owned a company would you let people have this hat if you knew you could get sued and not only have to pay an employee to not come to work, but could actually lose your company over it?

I love how they connect the dots in the case too, Las Vegas shooters used the flag and pinned swastikas to cops they shot, thus the flag has racial overtonea.....when in reality the swastikas were saying the cops were nazis but hey why do facts matter in society anymore, it's all about feelings

You can file an EEOC complaint about anything. I could file one about a the Fighting Irish flag, or a guy who menacingly sideways duckbill caps. And no, employers cannot be sued for somebody simply displaying a Gadsden flag. It could be harassment,or, it could not. It is not harassment if simply displayed. Use it to harass somebody and it becomes a tool of harassment. Same case can be made for your bumper sticker.

You're missing the point. You can file an EEOC complaint about anything. It is then the job of the EEOC to come up with a ruling or decision. In this case, after a proper investigation, they decided it wasn't worth bothering over. Just because a complaint was filed, and investigation run, doesn't mean shit about the legitimacy of the Gadsden Flag. People are reading A LOT more into the issue than there really is. Which is absolutely wrong. Shooting of officers in NV was left wing anarchists that actually were kicked off bundy ranch for their views. They pinned swastikas on the officers because I'm their view the cops were nazis.

But rulings like this, same hon are the same. If not it would have been dismissed which post office actually requested and their attorneys cited error in original ruling which stated flag was racist. The hearing upheld lower ruling stating there was none error in that finding

Calling your secretary baby is nothing like the EEOC Gadsden ruling. Sexual harassment like that is recognized and consequences enforceable. Key word, enforceable. You get fined, you lose your job, your secretary gets $$. Did that happen with Gadsden? Is that the position the EEOC or courts have taken concerning displaying the Gadsden flag? Is there a legal reward to the complainant? Until there is, they are not at all comparable.

i fly the 3 national confederate flags while camping and all the time people ask me what they are. (I know thats another ball game). issues of flags can bring up so much controversy.

 

I also own 'confederate' flag. It passes me off that people hate that flag also, my family helped settle tenn after revolutionary war. I was raised to proud of the pioneer blood and spirit in our family. Now we are looked down on.

Hell that flag was passed down to me and had it my bedroom growing up, none of my friends ever said shit, it wasn't considered racist, if anything when we went camping I had to talk to the locals because as they said I 'could speak hillbilly'.

But are just to butthurt anymore. Be a man for once, if tell em to f-ck off and walk the other way. Society now is full of fragile little snowflakes and it's going to ruin our country

 

Yeah Nip most people have no clue about confederate flag history, there was more than just the battle flag, and the Naval Jack and the Battle flag are different, one has a white border atound it. Had some drunk guys try to come over to my camp site and tell me to take my flags down, talking shit, then when they started threats trying to scare me, I look over and see a charles manson looking dude walking up with a ax in his hand and I had no clue who he was, I thought oh shit here we go, but dude walked up and stood on my side and I actually had to calm him down, he tried to take one of the other guys head off. After shit calmed down and those dudes went back to where they were camping, I was walking with my girlfriend and both those trouble dudes came out of nowhere and one pulled a knife on me, he said while waving the knife around ""I'll put you in the ground!" And said "I just got out of prision!", I told him, you just got out of prison and now you are threating me with a knife?, then I told him didnt your mother ever tell you not to bring a knif to a gun fight? He said "you got a gun?", I pulled out my 9mm and told him if he came at me with that knife I would light his ass up, the look on his face was like oh man I am going to get shot. I could of shot him but he was just a stupid drunk that just got out of prison. Cops showed up asking questions and the prison dude was acting like we were best friends, I did him a favor telling the cops we were looking fire wood, they would of searched that dude and he would of been back in prison. It was a weird and crazy night, all over two guys that didnt know anything about the 3 national confederate flags I had. Oh and turned out that manson dude got a janitor job at the stuido where my band use to practice, some one hit and killed him on his bike and took off. I will always be in thanks to that dude for being on my side.
