Ok, just a thought...,so my idea of buying property has got me to see property in co for under $2000 a acer with 5 up to 26 acer lots. Cheap monthly payments and off the grid, sort of. Digging a well and paying to get the electric from the power line to the place is upfront cost. If a few of us each bought 1-5 acers next to each other even, we could have the grow op-er-tune-a-tee. All the tallent of what ever we need someone can do. Electric, ac, water, security. We are a mix bunch of growers. I want to buy 5 acers atleast. $140 a year taxes. Wow. Would be worth it just to keep it in the family. Prices only going up.

I looked last night, about $1500 a acer. South centeal co. Had the most.

Montana had as low as $800 a acer. A 26 acer spot is cheap but not much out there, charles mansons brother or maralan manson prob.

Too far from the ocean for me. I'm a wharf rat. But a cool idea and if i was flush I'd buy in just to be included. I like communes. They probably don't work long term but its gotta be a heelluva blast trying.

We could schedule a yearly shindig. Good excuse to all get together and make peace, share goods.

Who's in charge of hookers and booze?

Have you double checked with the county for the well rights? If you want water and don't want to run it in you probably should. Colorado has the strictest water laws in the nation and they're really tough on digging new wells.

Sounds sweet though! Where in CO are you looking?

Water rights be a Huuuuge deal in western states. Good advice SirStynk.

I was just checking out what was avail at a decent price. 5 acers would be great and if you can get it for less than $10,000 I am sold. They did say you can dig a well and as long as you put up a shed even you can stay more than 30 days, the 39 day thing was a camping deal. Guess there you cant live primitive for two long.

Denver. It's the one part of Colo I really don't like. With the obvious exception of El Chapultepec. But that whole front range just feels like mile after mile of endless suburb.
