I am trying to track down a weirdo pestering a family member on a online app. Anyone that can pm me for any help or info for help would be greatly appreciated. i can post more info in pm. I am not trying to do anything crazy or illegal.
I sure as hell wouldn't pay one of those online things. Facebook? Or if the person is causing harm in some way, seek redress through the police or if not a criminal matter, call a lawyer about a law suit or other legal actions you can take to stop harassment. People tend to hate getting letters from lawyers. I know I do.
Yeah its not face book, its one of those live singings apps, has chat and people can send pics I guess. I got some info to try to use (user name, on several apps and email, even a pic if its real?) but I just need to know if this dude is anywhere near my family member. so I am mainly trying to see where hes posting from or lives.
One thing you could try legally is to run a google search of his username, pic, or both at the same time (should be a help article on how to do it somewhere on the google page). Find where else he is active online through one or the other and see if he was more careless elsewhere. Follow any new information you get from there. Try variations and cover all sorts of interests. Good old fashioned e-stalking. It can be used for evil but it has a lot of legitimate uses too. There are also web services and computer programs that can do the same thing for a fee and at a much deeper level than you could easily by yourself.
yeah i mean somebodies tracking you if your online. just get a hold of one of those marketing bots. they know your underwear size.
Dude what @SirStynkalot said is a VERY effective means. you can also sometimes google email addresses. IF you can manage to get a real name approximate age and state this site does wonders and is relatively cheap. (it works for "Good old fashioned e-stalking" just as good as dating. LOL) Happy hunting www.instantcheckmate.com @Justcheckingitout
There's ways. I've used usernames in google and had some luck. If you can find a thread or social platform the person has been active there's a ton of stuff lurking there. Some sites protect absolutely nothing. Other's are a treasure trove of user info, some older platforms even leave exposed user IP's. But yeah, google and it's spiderbots are your friend. People are creatures of habit and simplicity. If a guy is using a username on one platform, odds are they're using the same username somewhere else. Why not just delete the app and block contact?
