Prop 65 is prob the most laughable thing i've ever heard of....seen a company label cocoa under it today so i started looking at the list. While my entire industry usually laughs about this stuff, because this is a great example of government run wild and lawyers getting rich in the name of helping people.....i just never thought id see the day when people are listing cocoa and things like that because it may contain lead (naturally occurring) I know some companies tried to fight the acrylamide a few years back, because cooking food actually gives you cancer (only in CA) but some of these chemicals are fucking laughable, I wanna see the hard data. bad news for all you people in CA...you are all going to die a horrible cancerous death from literally ever compound known to man. Even has marijuana smoke listed this is why the so called do gooders need to be held in check; CA is the only place in the world coffee gives you cancer, other studies show it's good for the heart, just read one this morning that drinking 4 cups a day lengthens life...but you will die in CA from drinking it, lord have mercy on your soul if you dare eat a chocolate bar or apply aloe to those sun burns https://oehha.ca.gov/media/downloads/proposition-65/general-info/p65plain.pdf https://oehha.ca.gov/proposition-65/proposition-65-list
Funny how it doesn't break out the component(s) in "marijuana smoke" that causes cancer. Nip, pretty much everything is bad for you and will make you die. No matter where you are. Here in California, we just have a list. Since it doesn't specifically list "bacon", I'll be having some, right after subjecting it to radiation.
hate to break the news, bacon falls under acrylamides....unless you are eating it raw, then you have worms and a few bacteria to worry about.
Ca is liberals run amuck, that's why. You should try running a business out here. The regulations and taxes are fucking nuts.
I remember a few years back I had to write a statement for transparency in supply act just so we could still sell product in CA. My internal one got a good laugh, to sum up I advocated for slavery and child labor to keep our pricing low, but that shit is getting out of hand. I feel sorry for you all out there, it's only a matter of time before they outlaw nutes because of water run off concerns
I don't think I could ever stomach to live there. like the old joke, if I had three nukes..i'd use one on the polar ice cap to speed up sea levels, one on japan just to make sure they knew we aren't sorry, and one on the the fault, to get cali off the coast. The paperwork for that state is a nightmare, the vast majority of that list is out right bullshit, the levels needed for toxicity aren't close to what you would find under normal conditions. and the kicker, these same people bitch about animal testing because it's not reliable because a rat does not represent human body well rely on animal testing for these bans...........shooting up a rat the levels which takes about 15 lbs of french fries everyday for years doesn't equate to a human being drinking a cup of coffee. shit look how many pharm drugs are on the list It reminds me when people freaked out about a dough conditioner being used in yoga mats, so of course everyone geeked out......those same people don't understand water is part of antifreeze, but that doesn't make water bad. I will fall back on my usual, age of information makes people dumber than ever. Why read a book or learn a skill when you can read an article or watch a tv show and know more about the subject than the person that literally wrote the book
oh I will add...why isn't high fructose corn syrup on that list? I personally would bet my career that it becomes a cancer causing agent with in our lifetimes. I think it's the one of the largest reasons cancer rates are so high. well that and pesticide usage...but you can't argue against that because millions of people would starve in the US alone, corn syrup on the other hand is a waste product with lobbyists
bacon never hurt anyone, don't make claims like that. bacon is a gift from the gods. prob gluten intolerance honestly, everyone thinks they have celiac's disease thanks to dr. oz. really it's just from eating overly processed foods, specially grains that have been sprayed in the fields to dry so they don't rot, residuals left over make it in the food chain. kinda like e coli, feeding cows grass vs grains would drastically reduce it in the food industry. but once again, that would fuck with the corn lobby so we can't have that
I love pink bacon, if its brown its over cooked to me, i was thinking all the preservatives are killing my stomic, but 30 plus years of hard drinking prob didnt help.
No, no no.... Bacon must be cooked, crunchy. Almost, but not quite, black. Recreational MJ is now legal here, but I'm still thinking of leaving because of all the nanny-state laws. Any recommendations? My wife and I were just in eastern Idaho and thought it was great! Oh, and, Hi guys!
hey hey hey, look who it is with you on the bacon. as far as moving, depends what you want to do or if you are retired. never been to idaho, hear it's breathtaking
I am in Northern Idaho. Winters can be tough, MJ laws suck, gun laws are great. I love it up here and no nanny state.
sounds like heaven except for the shitty smoke laws. I haven't seen a good winter in a few years, i miss doing playin with the kids in the snow. shit i got a snow blower (because I feel old lol) that I haven't used in prob 4 years now. live free or die, i can't wait to be rural all the time
Don't move to Idahole. I've lived in Moscow and Coeur D'Alene. Disco could tell you more about Southern Idaho but I can say to stay the fuck out of the panhandle. They are NOT fans of the plant around there... or women, or black or brown people. I got a shorter sentence for pulling a knife on someone than a guy in my work crew did for possession of 1/2 oz. They don't fuck around and they put a HUGE chunk of their LE budget toward busting cannabis. Guess they don't have enough real problems since they essentially legalized rape and ran out every black and brown gang so all that's left are skinheads and alt-right militias and the locals are fine with them. Course I'm a law student who's about as liberal as they come. Working in CA is a wet dream for me. Fucking gravy train. So what works for me might not work for you.
My experience has been completely different from yours. I live out in the forest about 8 miles out of a small town. Been up here for 12 years and met a lot of really good people. We live quietly and don't attract a lot of attention to our place. I don't peddle the weed so the cops only see me going to the store/ post office and normal errands. So, different strokes for different folks.
My experience has been getting harassed by cops ever since I stepped foot in Moscow. Most of the Idaho cops inform me that they know exactly who I am. Southern Idaho has other terror tales that I could write a lot more about. I could have sued them for how many times I was pulled over for random reasons and searched or had the local PDs trying to plant things in my car. I'd stay away from the state if you've made any noise as far as Cannabis is concerned.
i go to our cabin and everyone thinks its a bunch of redneck hicks, which there is that, but also a lot of folk that are friendly and just want to live life their way and not be bothered, but they are some of the nicest people youd ever meet...theyre just a little different I got my first ticket in over a decade down there a few months ago, zero tolerance state, with a gallon jar filled with nugs, a multi guns in the car. Was going 26 over limit. Trooper was nice to me, i called him sir, told him i had guns, he reduced the ticket to 5 over to lower my fine and told me to enjoy my trip but slow down for my safety and others. Didnt search me, my car, didnt even ask where the guns were I also went to jail once in bum fuck tenn for dui (i wasnt over .08, but zero tolerance state). It happened to be a sunday and i got stopped for speeding and the cop askes me if i attended chuch that morning after i blew...my response being young was...why the fuck would i go to your hillbilly ass church...and was promptly arrested on the spot. For years i was positive that i was arrested for not being a church going type, now close to 20 years later i look back and think i was prob arrested for being a dick and taking the situation to a place it didnt have to go. If i would have replied that i was just vacationing in the mountains and stopped in town for dinner because it looks like a great town, im sure it would have ended different. I see videos now of people telling cops i dont have to give you my license because they know such and such a law, then their window shatters, they get pulled out and go to jail.....that reminds me of how big of a dumbass i was, because while i may have been right, i caused my self 5 grand and a night in some shit hole town no one has ever heard of Point is, all kinds of people in all kinds of places, some will make an issue when there shouldnt be one. Id say over 99% of the people i meet are good people, just got to find what you have in common and not focus on whats different. Shit always goes bad if you dont treat others with proper respect...specially in small town. If you are nice and polite, a lot of folk will look the other way. But some cops are dicks because they were shoved into lockers growing up and never got invited to parties. Aint no pleasing that type.
