good morning gk. i need some advice on where to place my centrifugal fan,170 cfm? do i place the fan inside my box,4' away from the reflector and run another 8' to 10' of ducting to the output of the fan or put all of the duct to the intake of the fan? cooling is main issue here,i'm running lower 80'sf with a 400 watt light and i'm going up to a 600 watt. thanks, hope that doesn't confuse anyone,i just woke up to a bowl of dsd:)

Either way would "work". We have our exhaust fans outside, but it is mainly for space issue's.

If you have room and noise is a concern, then definately in the box.

There will be some heat from the fan motor in the box and you are upgrading the light and it is going to increase temps as well so consider that.

good luck either way you go :pimp:

Is that 170cfm going to be enough to pull thru a scrubber, light AND 10' of duct? I would have to say it wont, but depending on the fan maybe. I would put it at the end, but if you have a booster fan, like the ones they sell at HD, then I would use one of those too right in the ducting by the light.
