I agree we are havin a lot of probs in iraq but i disagree and still say we are that badass. We have the most powerful, technologically advanced army in the world. The only countries i think would even stand a chance would be russia or china and eventually finances would play a major role and we all know who would win that.

As for americans fighting americans in a war, we all know bout the civil war but times are different and i doubt anything like that will ever happen again.

I couldn't agree more....both China and Russia are draining our economy thru indirect means and we will lose that battle in time. Many don't know this, but China is buying up our foreign debt. Pretty soon China will OWN us. What then? :ponder:

Nothing worse than when japan bought up our debt. Owning, and OWNING are two different things. The closest China ever has ,or will come to truly owning us is when Bill Clinton was president. You can thank him for many of the problems we now have with them. North Korea also.

I usually stay out of here but i will set you guy's straight on the gun law's in my home country.

1.You must be registered with a gun club.

    2.You must have a fire-arm's licence.($200 per year.)

3.You must have a legitimate reason for obtaining said licence,i.e;vermin control, recreational, sporting

4.You must have a lockable steel cabinet for your gun's.

5.You must keep your bolt's and ammo in separate place's.

6.No-one else must know where the key to your cabinet is.

7.Police have the authority to come onto your premises to check that everything is in order.

    8.And no criminal record

Make's you want to go out and purchase a rifle ,hey !!!

As for the "rise" in crime over here.

The Chinese/Asian gang's,"Triad's",are the main importer's of hand-gun's as they use them for the heroin trade,,or to wipe themselve's out,ya also got the Lebanese,Turk's,i could go on,but them guy's are usually involved in the gang side of thing's.

As for use of fire-arm's for the use of armed robberies's,most are "replica" pistol's,how many of you could tell the diference between a real and replica pistol ? NOT ME !!!!

More people over here get bludgeoned to death than shot,i.e,beaten to death with a hammer,machete,shovel,4" X 2" piece of wood.

The gun law's are PRETTY strict over here, however,i think that they are working. :ebert:

    Peace.

Guns are a part of american ideology just like religious freedom. They've been here since the beginning, and we're not going to lose them.

If every law abiding citizen had a gun on them, then criminals would hesitate to whip one out, at risk of being shot themselves.

Gun restrictions take firearms out of the hands of law abiding citizens, not criminals. Criminals break the law, why not break gun control laws?

If i were a hardened criminal in a country that banned weapons, it would just make me feel more comfortable to use one when i commit a crime, cause i'd know that the chances of someone else having one would be less.

I also think that public execution is a much better crime deterrent than gun control.

I'm not against fire arms because I enjoy a modest collection, but our gun laws are not very effective. Regulation should be administered at the manufacturers' level instead of hassling our average Joe/Jane Citizen... These manufacturers are quietly pulling in massive profits with all the "unregisterd" firearms that have been flooding our streets for years. A little known factoid for you folks.....The gun industry is the last unregulated manufacturer of a consumer product in America. Toasters get more scrutiny from our govt. than hanguns (before they're sold)....go figure.

Unfortunately I have to agree on most of these points but i still say stop makin handguns. They are not needed for huntin therefore they are not needed at all. Enough should be kept for law enforcement only. As for the gun restrictions takin guns out of the hands of law abidin citizens, I wouldn't think someone with a clean record would have a hard time gettin a permit, but i know nuthin bout gun laws.

This country is very different from 3rd world countries like Iraq. How many ppl in this country would actually watch it. My guess is the only ppl that would watch are the crazys' who would commit bad enuf crimes to get this type of punishment. We are havin a hard enuf time keepin the death penalty around the way it is. We must look for ways to help the cause that are within our grasp.

I don't own any guns currently, tho when I lived in Phoenix i did. If I lived in a big urban area I would own a handgun. shooting is fun, butt I have small children in the house and chose to get rid of my guns. Once they are gone I will get a safe and get some more.

My hometown Wythenshawe, Manchester - England has it's own TV show these days 'cause things are so bad.

I don't exadgerate (sp?) when i say it has become like the wild west.

I went home over christmas for a fortnight, and there was 6 murders just in that 2 weeks in the area, and that's only a small part of Manchester.

A couple of my friends have been interrogated by gangs with guns held in there face.

I went to a big party and good people i used to go to school with are strapped nowadays.

Every fucker's got themselves a gun, and many arn't afraid to use them.

Driveby's on random people walking the street at night.

It's kind of scary. It isn't safe to walk to the shop for cigs and munchies at night anymore.

I think a big part of the reason is UK cops don't carry guns.

For years we've managed to do somthing many nations wern't... police without deadly force.

Unfortunatly i think those days are coming to an end.

In a few years they won't be your regular baton carrying, silly hat-wearing bobby's anymore.

It's a shame ..but like haze said '**** happens'. [IMG]

Excellent point there Smokey. Yup, guns are banned so now you are at the mercy of the people who have them. You can't protect yourself and we all know that the po po's job isn't protection butt enforcement. They ban guns and now you say it is dangerous to go the the store at night. was it like this before the gun ban?

I like when people rob small convenience stores, pull out a gun, and the clerk pulls out a 2foot long shiny chrome colt 45 hand cannon and says, "HERE IS MINE!" hahaha. The look on the inexperienced, small-time crook's face is priceless.

Well, it was never the nicest of areas to begin with. You risked a mugging or something like that, but you were never risking your life.
