strawberry: making absynth is just like brewing tea been doing it for quite a few years i grow wormwood, grind the wormwood i use an old sock for a tea bag and throw it in with some other flavoring herbs, i usualy use vodka and let it sit a month or two, and it i good to go some people do distill it over again but we don't bother, have redistilled it but it just smoothed out the taste thats where i think that the you might go blind thing you said comes from, but i know a few shine makers and none of them are blind the thing about bad shine making you blind is really more of a myth than anything it goes back to the days of prohibition where people would add antifreeze (methonal) to make weak shine to make it burn like the good stuff when people drank it
G was ok for a bit,but trying to BUY weed from 2 mods is a bad idea in case,he lied! DONT get me wrong,so did i ,in fact i was one of the mods who pled his case for another chance and he repaid me by telling other mods i had sold him weed,iv never even met the guy,i asked to meet him in amsterdam and no reply,plus he PM'd me one time going crazy cos neon allegedly asked for clones and seeds yet he had the balls to ask me and another mod to distribute weed to his mrs as he was 'out the country',this meant hypothetically talkin that we would not even be metting him,now i dont kno bout the rest of y'all but would YOU take that chance? G was banned 1st time around and then started accessing his wifes account i was one of the mods who voted to give him a 2nd chance even though he was trying to open up multiple accounts and shit,he came back promising no more trouble... And you can bet that if MJ is ever really legalized, you'll find out that companies like Monsanto (likely) already have terminator tech (new seeds not viable) ready to install into those fem seeds and legislators that will make it required by law. That's why I'm planning some major pollen chucking across many breeds. Not to focus on specific traits, but to widen my genetic pool with as many traits as possible that can be found and concentrated upon later as legal/environmental circumstances may differ from those present.
I am now confused...we were talking about seeds, and wormwood seeds would not do diddly in terms of producing the thujone necessary for true absinthe. As for moon shine made wrong a causing blindness a myth...if you say so, I can't argue as I have never made shine...drank my fair share but never made it. It does seem to me when I practiced in alabama I saw an awfully large number of folks in the ER who obviously didn't know they were suffering from a myth. The desired outcome is ethanol.. and if distilled at the wrong temperature the outcome is methanol aka methyl alchohol/ wood alchohol which the body breaks down into formaldehyde. There wouldnt be any need for terminator tech. Seed company's that sell female only seeds are already accomplishing it. Cant make seeds without male pollen. If you have female only you have to induce hermaphrodism to gather any pollen. If done through successive generations the end result is a hermaphroditic genetic line. Besides, as soon as massive seed co's jump in, it wont take long before all they are selling is feral cannabis seeds.... Much like the komodo dragon, it has the ability to produce pronogenitically (can't recall the term, something like that, Skunky whats the word I'm looking for here???), basically it can produce fertile eggs without any male fertilization. But it can't continue to do this because the male genes are required to insure genetic diversity, and therefore sustain the species. A pronogenesis (???) offspring can not produce another generation without male fertilization. If you want to help preserve the cannabis genepool, forget about crossing hybrids and polyhybrids. Gather as many landrace cultivars as you can, and use open pollenation to preserve all the genetic traits contained within the line. I am working on Thai and South African landraces atm. Chinese is in the wings. Before I do any selection for breeding, all the males will go into a chamber with all the females for a massive orgy. This insures all the variety available in the line is preserved. It makes selection much more difficult if using the offspring, however it preserves the line. With the amount of interbreeding and polyhybrid crosses running ramant across the globe, this is the only long term solution to saving the building blocks of our beloved plant. Landraces Seeds have already been spread throughout the world, so how can anyone be sure that what they are getting is a true landrace? Which breeders offer landrace seeds?
Go to the source. Really thats the only way to be 100% sure. Most landraces have been hybridized. So the source is where it's at. The farmer in thailand/africa/indonesia/asia/pakistan/afghanistan/india who has worked the same genetics for 30+ years. As for breeders, good luck. Very few (if any) offer landraces. I can only think of Afropips off the top of my head.
Gypsy claims to have a few asian landraces available. I pretty much trust this one. Arjan wants us to believe he is doing everything possible to get them into our hands. Sure he is.....sure. Looks good on vid and sells a ton of seeds tho. I recently found an old tin of old Mex red sat seeds from years ago. Decade old? Got them on a trip to the Barranca del Cobre. Wouldn't germ anymore last time I tried. Every trip I take anymore will entail finding local stock and bringing it home. Even then it's a crapshoot unless you personally know the grower. cheers,

Gypsy claims to have a Laotian sativa from Luang Prabang (N. Cambodia), Khmer Gold from southern Cambodia and a Thai sativa from Nong Khai. Can't speak personally for authenticity. World of Seeds has some claims of Pakistani, Afghan Kush (but claims "almost 100% indica". Um..ok) a Brazilian Amazon indica (sounds fishy to me), a Santa Marta Gold (again...listed as an indi/sat mix. How can this be a Columbian landrace?), a N. Moroccan Indica and a Ko Chang Thai sat landraces. As you can see, I have sincere doubts on the veracity of some of the claims. Makes me think of all the traveling I did in the late 70's and 80's and the local grown I smoked then. I could have a stable of dozens of S. and Central American landrace strains if only I had realized. Young and dumb. Nowadays it's usually an indica hybrid called by whatever local strain your looking for. Any tips on old seed germination would be enormously appreciated. These where special seeds from a very special experience and I can vouch for authenticity. Was able to see the actual grow plot and toke with the farmer. It was the reason I started toking and growing again. I sincerely doubt that I could ever get my hands on them again without getting killed in the process. Thnx Useless. Yes, I agree that would be very Usefull. Useless, I saw some of your methods but can't remember them and can't remember where I saw em. I do have some older seeds (nothing major) that I couldn't get to pop, so I'd like to try some diff things.

States regulate which plants can be imported. They don't allow strains to be imported that are local cash crops. I think the laws are to keep diseases from coming in and wiping out industries. Florida, for example doesn't allow oranges to be imported because that is their most important plant and a virus could cost billions in lost revenue.
