Nirvana AK48 - 210W CFL Grow

Im bored so I thought I would throw up a couple of pictures. These were taken today, day 26 since switching to 12/12.











Things are starting to really frost up. And the buds are growing so I guess things are running smoothly. Im going to call the 22nd end of week 3 flower but Ill let the trichs tell the tale near the end. Hope you enjoyed! Peace

 

Ok heres the end of week 3 update. Things are progressing along nicely so far but after watching stickyickys grow I know its not much to brag about. Next grow will be flowered with a 400W HPS. So here we go...

Well there you go folks. It might not be as impressive as a HPS grow but when you think about it, it already looks better than the shit Im able buy:thumbsup:. They should fatten up a bunch in the next 5 weeks. So far they hadnt really smelled all that much at all but today when I was attempting to get some good pictures and since they were out of the cab I could really smell them. They all have a very fruity smell to them, not much of a skunky smell. These next 5 weeks cant go fast enough! Peaceassit:

 

V man who are you kidding?? People are probably doing double takes to check and make sure you said you were using CFL's. They look good and still nice and green for a month in. And don't be so quick with questioning the lighting. Fresh air is also key and if you had a million watts with not enough fresh air it won't mean shit. This is kind of sweet though that we are literally almost exact the same amount in with the same strain. October can't come soon enough..........

Again thanks for the props guys. As for this being my first grow, I'm completely satisfied! Only had a couple issues early on, pH being one and underfeeding being the second, but things are looking awesome now! I usually only sneak a peek twice a day or else I just find myself in the garden the majority of the day doing anything I possibly can. Testing pH and TDS and adjusting if necessary or just plain staring at the girls and drooling. I know you all know exactly what I'm talking about. My wife takes a look even less often than me because she wants me to chop em and dry em so she can smoke them up lol. Fortunately I'm not much of a smoker, but god-damn I'm so completely addicted to growing its not even funny. I have a wardrobe coming that I will modding soon, and as soon as this grow is done, or nearing an end I will start construction on the new cab. I really want the new cab to be along the lines of a NGB, with a small veg/clone/mom area, but hate to sacrifice room for flowering. Maybe the cab I'm using now should be the mom clone area......I drive myself crazy with these thoughts everyday. Ok enough rambling, see what happens when I post medicated? Peace out GK

 

Your plants are looking great, I got started with CFL's so I know you can grow some good shit with them. Keep it up.:thumbsup:

Generally speaking, you've done as well as everybody else, first grow, CFL's or not.


If and when your situation allow's you to upgrade, you'll be even more amazed at your result's. I built a cab of similar size and I use a 4" passive intake and a 4" Wisper fan, dead center on the top(cardboard box for a baffle).

Hey V, that's looking wicked sweet. I don't have my PC yet, and all I have for now is my blackberry so I couldn't check out the website very well, but I think we may be using the same bulbs.


Are your bulbs big fat spirales? I bought a couple of those as soon as I got here cuz they throw out 2700K. Right now I have them in bendable/flexible-arm desk lamps.


Does that sound similar to yours? Would you be able to just screw then into a plain old standard lamp socket?


If these are the ones then I gotta tell ya I'm pretty excited about what they appear to be able to do, based on your pics.


I only paid 10 bucks each for the bulbs and about 12 bucks for each lamp.


It looks like you got a wicked awesome set up going. And what beautiful plants.

Thank for the compliments, I am also amazed at what a person can do with stuff you can buy from wal-mart, lol. I think everything used in my grow was purchased from walmart with the exception of my nutrients and meters, seeds, and growing medium. This grow has been a learning experience that will definately help me out when I upgrade for my next grow. Peace

 

Walmart is Asda in the UK and you can buy everything in there that you need. Lights, soil and ferts. Everything else is just window dressing lol

AK-47 is on my long list of strains to try. Am I the only one who has spent thousands on beans over the years?

 

Somehow I doubt that. This is my first grow and Ive already shelled out $150 on beans. And thats not the end by no means. I would love to get my hands on some DJ Shorts strains, especially blueberry. But there are tons of other strains im dying to try

 

Never make strain lists, they never get any shorter!

Its realllllly crowded in the cab, getting difficult to keep pulling em out for pics each week.
